We're a friendly, local, supportive fitness centre with a focus on strength training to aid in weight loss and reverse the natural loss of lean tissue as we age and to maintain functional ability. We have a circuit of state-of-the-art resistance equipment that uses technology to help everyone get fitter regardless of where you're starting from. We have members aged from 15 - 96 and every shape, size and fitness ability. Lots of thought has gone into making the workouts fun and progressive to ward off boredom and ensure you continue to get results.

When Your Strength Test Dips ...

Let’s get one thing clear, at Inspire your progress isn’t just measured by the weight on a machine. It’s measured by you, in your day to day lives. It's measured by the fact you can empty the lawnmower basket with ease again or the fact you can keep up on the family bike rides! It's measured by the confidence you have in your body.

Our technology gives us data, sure, but what really matters is how you feel. Sometimes your body needs a nudge forward. Other times, it’s asking for a breather.
A dip in your strength test doesn’t mean you’re going backwards. It usually means your body is quietly saying “I’m tired. I need a minute.” And that’s not failure, that’s smart.

Truth Time ...

Even though we run a fitness studio, we don’t bounce out of bed desperate to work out every single day!

Life is busy. Energy dips. Motivation wobbles. Sometimes we just can't be bothered!

We get it, mostly because we feel it too sometimes.

That’s why accountability matters.

Carolyn and I keep each other on track (sometimes with a laugh, sometimes with a gentle nudge). And that’s exactly what we do for our members too.

We’re not here to make you feel bad when you've lost your mojo. (You'll be doing that enough yourself no doubt) We’re the ones walking behind you, giving you that push up the hill when you need it most.

Protect your sleep like it’s part of your training!

Aim for a consistent bedtime and try swapping the late night scroll for something calming. A book, gentle stretches or even just a few deep breaths.

Good sleep means better mood, more energy and faster recovery from workouts (and life!)

Think of it as the invisible workout that powers all the others.

And yes, we do mean putting your phone down before midnight… we see you 👀

“I’ve joined the gym but I’m not losing weight”

Let’s be honest, this one’s common.

Here’s the thing

• The scales don’t tell the full story.
• Strength training builds muscle, boosts metabolism and changes how your body feels and works (often before the numbers shift)
• And sometimes, weight isn’t the best measure of progress anyway.

That’s why at Inspire we offer monthly weigh & measure check ins (optional, of course!) We look at changes in muscle, fat and measurements - not just the number on the scales.

Remember: if you’re moving better, feeling stronger and have more energy, you are making progress. Don’t let the scales determine your success ❤️

Our next September Small Change is all about movement.

Add just 10 extra minutes a day.

Not a workout, not a gym session, just moving your body a little more than yesterday.

Our aim is to help the people of Chippenham and the surrounding villages to become stronger so they can enjoy life more and slow the effects of ageing. It’s never too soon to start using strength training to protect your health and to keep you vital.
