Guests can look forward to complimentary hot drinks, homemade treats and good company in a friendly and informal environment.

🎳 A Lovely Day Out at Chipping Norton bowls Club ! 🎳

Our Home Manager, Lynne, has recently joined the Chipping Norton Bowls Club, and this week, she took some of our residents along for a friendly game! 😊

Last week, our residents joined us for another wonderful “All About” session! The week before, they voted for us to explore the fascinating country of China.

While enjoying some delicious traditional vegetable spring rolls and refreshing green tea, we learned all about the Great Wall of China and the diverse cultures found across the country’s many cities.

To finish off our session, we relaxed with a serene video of Chinese landscapes, the perfect way to take in the beauty of this incredible country. 💮✨

📸 A Look Back at Chipping Norton 📸

We were thrilled to welcome local Chipping Norton enthusiast Alan Brain to Penhurst Gardens. Alan kindly brought along his wife’s wonderful photo collection, including some showing him painting the roof of the Beechcroft residence, right next door to us! 🏡✨

It was fascinating to see how much Chipping Norton has changed over the years, sparking plenty of memories and conversation among our residents.

We were delighted to welcome Julie Beames recently, who filled our home with the joyful sounds of the steel drums! 🎶🌴

The lively Caribbean music had everyone smiling, and some of our residents even had a go at playing the drums themselves. What a fantastic way to spend the afternoon! 💛

We’re absolutely thrilled to have the “Chipping Norton Remembers” poppy in our home for the next few days. What a beautiful tribute it is.

This morning, Joan left her mark of respect by signing her poppy to go on display. 💖 Joan is 104 years young and proudly served in the ATS as a cook during the war, a true inspiration and living link to our history.

We’re so honoured to share this special moment with her. ❤️

At Penhurst Gardens, we feel so lucky to have wonderful volunteers who bring joy and new experiences to our residents. Rachel kindly brought in a beautiful selection of flowers from her own garden. 🌼🌷🌹

Residents loved spending time arranging the flowers and displaying them around our home, it brought colour, fragrance, and lots of smiles! 💐✨

🌍✨ All About Switzerland ✨🌍

This week in our bistro, residents enjoyed an educational session about the beautiful country of Switzerland.

We discovered fascinating Swiss legends, including the world-famous tennis star Roger Federer 🎾 and treated ourselves to some delicious Lindt chocolate 🍫. To top it off, we watched a video of the breathtaking Swiss landscapes, from snowy mountains to peaceful lakes. 🏔️🌲💧

It was a wonderful afternoon of learning, sharing, and (of course) tasting!
