New Appointment system in September 2025.

In preparation for our new appointment system being launched in September, we will be holding open mornings once a week in August.

These open mornings will give patients a chance to come and find out how the new system will work and to ask questions to senior CNHC staff.

There is no need to contact us to book, the session will be drop in only.

A patient information sheet will be released in August and more information posted on this page, as well as on our website, if you cannot make any of the dates or you have any further questions.

Sessions are as follows:
Thursday 7th August 9 – 11.30
Wednesday 13th August 9 – 11.30
Tuesday 19th August 9 – 11.30
Thursday 28th August 9 – 11.30

New Prescriptions box in the Town Centre.

Due to patient demand, we now have a prescriptions box at the following location:

Cotswold Newsagents

This is a secure box emptied by our dispensary staff. You can place your repeat slip in this box to request your medication. It does not matter who dispenses it. Please allow 8 day from depositing your request before you attempt collection of your medication.
We would like to thank Cotswold Newsagents for their help and support.

September - New appointment system.

You may have seen an article in the Chippy News about a new appointment system that will start in September. The article is copied below for your reference.

Appointments update.
From patient feedback and GMS (General Medical Services) contractual changes, we have made the decision to implement a new appointment booking system, which will be clinician led.
For the majority of patients, this will mean filling in an online form to request an appointment. For those not able to do so, telephone access and other contact methods will still be available.

This process is known as Clinician-led triage and is in operation in many GP surgeries across the UK. It means a clinician will be involved in deciding on the next step when a patient request comes into the practice. We plan to introduce these changes on the 1st September 2025.

We are currently still in the planning stages which will be finalised soon. Throughout August we will hold patient information drop in mornings, that will explain the details surrounding how the new system will work. There will be senior staff members present for you to discuss these changes with. We kindly ask patients to please wait until these sessions before directing any questions to the practice. From mid-July onwards, more information about both the drops in and the new system will appear on our website, social media and on notice boards in the waiting room.

SCAM alert
We have been advised that there is currently a scam in operation, that sends patients a text message asking them to sign a new agreement to stay registered at their practice. This is not necessary and not legitimate so please do not click on the link or pay any money. This has been featured on the BBC. There is no need to contact the practice about this.

Slightly later than normal are last months missed appointment figures.
This is where we post about the number of appointments that aren't attended and aren't cancelled.
During the month of May we had the following number of appointments where patients did not attend:
GP - 72
Nurse - 101
Clinical Pharmacist - 19
That's a lot of hours of missed appointments in 1 month.
A REMINDER - If you have an appointment booked and you can no longer make it, please cancel so someone else can make use of it.
You can cancel your appointment via the NHS app, the link in your reminder message, on the phone or in person. We are seeing an improvement but we still have some way to go.
We appreciate your support.
