Friday 17th October 2025 - IMPORTANT INFORMATION

On Friday 17th October we will be saying a final farewell to our dear friend Andrina Perry.

To allow her colleagues to attend her funeral, we will close the practice doors from 10am – 2pm. We will be operating on reduced staffing levels for the whole day on Friday and will deal with same day urgent enquiries ONLY. If you have a routine issue, please contact us on Monday 20th.

If you have an existing appointment with a nurse or 3rd party, please come to the main doors and ring the bell. Someone will let you in.

If you need same day medical advice, please contact us via phone. Our online consultation tool will be closed for most of the day.
EDIT - for urgent medical advice between 10-1pm then please call 111.

We appreciate your support and understanding at this difficult time.

With thanks, the CNHC Team.

Winter Vaccinations - A reminder

Flu and COVID vaccinations Autumn/Winter 2025

This year we will again be offering the Flu and Covid vaccinations to our patient population ONLY. You will not find us on the NHS national booking system for this reason.
Our clinics will begin on Saturday 4th October and we will shortly start to invite patients by text and email.
You may receive a booking link asking you to make your own appointment. Please do so asap as the link will expire after 7 days.
The eligibility for COVID vaccinations this year has changed so you may not be eligable even if you were last year. For more information on who can have it, please see the NHS website (links below).
If you only wish to/or are only eligible for one of the vaccines, then please do book in with us. There is no requirement to have both in order to have an appointment at the surgery.
We kindly ask that you don't call us but wait until we contact you.
With thanks
The CNHC Team.

Andrina Perry 1960 - 2025

It is with the most profound sadness that we share the news that our much-loved and respected colleague, Andrina Perry, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening.

Andrina was not only a valued Care Navigator but also a cherished friend to so many of us. Her kindness, dedication, and warmth touched the lives of both staff and patients alike.

This is a very sad time for our practice, and we stand together in our grief. Please hold Andrina’s family in your thoughts and prayers.

There may be disruption to some of the practices services in the short term. Please do speak to a member of the team if you have any questions/concerns or you wish to share a memory of Andrina.

We appreciate your support and understanding at this difficult time.

Chippy Mop - The fair is in town.
This is a reminder to all patients to allow extra time to get to their appointments over the next few days.
The closure of roads, due to the fair, often causes traffic delays around the town.
Please plan ahead so you don't miss your appointment.
Thanks

New appointment system in September

As already communicated via this social media page, our Website and on notices in the Practice, we are moving to a new appointment system in September. We have so far held two patient open morning but only a handful of patients have attended. There are two to go - Tuesday 19th August 9 – 11.30 and Thursday 28th August 9 – 11.30 so if you have any questions, please come along and speak to us.

The new system is explained in the paragraph at the bottom. To confirm, we are NOT removing telephone access for patients. If you cannot fill in the form online for any reason, please call us on the usual number and a Care Navigator will fill in the form for you.
For any patients who use the reception email address, this will remain open to Health Professionals only from September 1st. All patients must submit enquiries through the online form. Please note that this is a different email address to the prescriptions email, which will not change and remains active for anyone to use (although we do prefer you order your medications via the NHS app 😊)

Thank you for your continued support.
The CNHC Team.

'Clinician led triage - From patient feedback and GMS (General Medical Services) contractual changes, we have made the decision to implement a new appointment booking system, which will be clinician led. For the majority of patients, this will mean filling in an online form to request an appointment. For those not able to do so, telephone access and other contact methods will still be available. This process is known as Clinician-led triage and is in operation in many GP surgeries across the UK. It means a clinician will be involved in deciding on the next step when a patient request comes into the practice.'

Below are last months missed appointment figures.

This is where we post about the number of appointments that aren't attended and aren't cancelled.

Unfortunately we have seen an increase in July. We had the following number of appointments where patients did not attend:

GP - 105 (33 more than last month)
Nurse - 104
Clinical Pharmacist - 26
Total 235 missed appointments, and that's a lot of hours of missed appointments in 1 month!

A REMINDER - If you have an appointment booked and you can no longer make it, please cancel so someone else can make use of it.
You can cancel your appointment via the NHS app, the link in your reminder message, on the phone or in person. We hope our new appointment system will help to address this.

We appreciate your support.

New Appointment system in September 2025.

In preparation for our new appointment system being launched in September, we will be holding open mornings once a week in August.

These open mornings will give patients a chance to come and find out how the new system will work and to ask questions to senior CNHC staff.

There is no need to contact us to book, the session will be drop in only.

A patient information sheet will be released in August and more information posted on this page, as well as on our website, if you cannot make any of the dates or you have any further questions.

Sessions are as follows:
Thursday 7th August 9 – 11.30
Wednesday 13th August 9 – 11.30
Tuesday 19th August 9 – 11.30
