The Upper Limits Team are Just back from a weekend over in the Brecon Beacons for planning and worthwhile CPD (T & D).

Saturday morning was spent under the South side of Pen y Fan (Gwaun Taf). Even though we could see lots of walkers up on Graig Fan Ddu, it was hard to believe that we were actually above the SF Trig at 642m practicing our skills.

We moved round to Y Gryn, West of Pen y Fan in the afternoon again avoiding the crowds, to do some work in a different area of the Beacons.

Today after coffee, it was great to spend the day on further development of our "Pathfinder Series" Navigation & Map Reading Achievement Awards.

To that end, we are excited to announce that following the success of our 1 day introduction to Navigation courses, we will be rolling out two additional "certificate of achievement awards" from May 2026. With Night Navigation Workshops & a Contour Masterclass either incorporated or available as stand alone bolt-on modules.

There is just a little more work to do before the revamped Intro (Level 1) is rolled out on the 16th May (Old Sodbury) followed by the Intermediate (Level 2) on the 30th May (Mendips).

Further to those dates, the next Level 2 - Intermediate will take place on the 18th July with a Level 3 - Advanced course taking place on the 19th. Both courses taking place in the Brecon Beacons National Park.

We would welcome the opportunity to work with minority groups or those with disability issues to develop further courses that would meet their needs in an outdoor environment.
