Massage/Meditation..Release What No longer serves you! 🧘
Fascia is a continuous, three-dimensional network of connective tissue that wraps, supports, and separates muscles, organs, bones, nerves, and blood vessels, acting as the body's internal scaffolding and "structural glue". Made mainly of collagen and water, healthy fascia allows for smooth movement, but when it tightens or becomes sticky, it can restrict mobility and cause pain, making it a vital sensory organ that communicates with the brain about body position and pressure.
When you experience acute stress or trauma and cannot “fight or flee” (you freeze), that enormous kinetic energy gets trapped.
The fascia contracts to protect you — like body armor.
Over time, it becomes dehydrated and stiff.
In 2026, somatic neuroscience confirms what osteopaths already knew:
👉 Fascia has memory.
• Fear is stored in the Psoas (the “muscle of the soul”).
• The burden of responsibility is stored in the Trapezius muscles.
• Unexpressed anger is stored in the Jaw (mandible).
Box Breathing (inhale 4, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4) or 4-7-8 Breathing (inhale 4, hold 7, exhale 😎 to activate the body's relaxation response, slow heart rate, and calm the nervous system, using deep belly breaths to shift from stress to calm, easily practiced anywhere by focusing on the sensation and rhythm of each breath.
