Choosing a menopause doctor who understands the complexities of hormonal effects throughout the WHOLE BODY is important. Female and Male ‘S*x Hormones’ do not only act in the reproductive system.

- Oestrogen receptors are found in breast tissue, the uterus, the brain, bone, the heart and fat tissue. Post menopause fat cells produce Esterone, a weaker form of Oestrogens.

- Progesterone receptors are located in the uterus, breast and brain.

- Testosterone and androgen receptors are present in muscle, bone, Male prostate & genitalia, Female Cl*toris and V*ginal canal, skin and the brain. Some tissues like the brain, bone and fat actually contain multiple types of these receptors.

This is why perimenopause, menopause and post menopause symptoms can be so non-specific and hugely variable amongst your friends and family.

Hearing your story and taking a snap shot of your blood levels and placing it all into context of your life is integral to individualised care.

For a personalised menopause consultation you can book Dr Sarah Jenkins and get the treatment plan right for you!

Did you know Dr Sarah takes a holistic approach to your health from top to toe?

Many women face changes to their health often associated with menopause but due to lack of education women don’t know what happens in our different stages of life.

Early perimenopause changes like skin thinning and collagen loss, imbalances in hormones creating turbulence. Facial aging, volume loss to mid-face creating the beginnings of jowls, marionette lines, aging around the eyes…

Menopause - when your periods have stopped for a year.

Post menopause - vulval atrophy and dryness, shrinkage of tissues leading to changes in sensation, appearance and female sexual dysfunction. Pain, burning, itching, urine leakage.

Getting the balance right for you as an individual is incredibly important!

I recently had the honour of presenting some of my medical cases at the Royal Society of Medicine Aesthetic branch meeting. I’m shocked and excited to announce my poster won!

As someone who has dyslexia and ADHD, academics does not come easy to me. I’m also a 1st generation graduate (no one in my family had been to university before) so I actually have to overcome a huge mental battle to even think my work is good enough to share with esteemed colleagues.

Honestly, I find it very difficult to go to these institutions and meetings. I’m surrounded by accomplished professors, heads of large hospital departments, international academics who have achieved so much. Men from long lines of medical heritage and prestige. It’s intimidating.

So for me to even be acknowledged, means more than you’ll ever know….

I am driven by finding medical solutions to improve the quality of life for women, and my poster presented some difficult cases where women were suffering with vulval conditions. We tried treatments which are considered “novel” in the UK (not widely available in NHS) but used greatly in EU and USA and beyond.

I wish to express gratitude to Dr Christopher Rowland-Payne, President of Royal Society of Medicine SAMAS branch, and the whole scientific committee for awarding me best poster prize 26.02.26

Imposter syndrome is a real phenomenon. I spend my days presenting, talking and teaching, yet travelling to medical academic institutions I never thought I was good enough to attend. So today on the train, I asked AI to summarise academic research on imposter phenomena and here’s what I learned:

Studies in traditionally male industries link imposter feelings to structural issues like under-representation, gender bias and lack of support networks, all of which reinforce self-doubt among women leaders. Organisational culture and gender norms also contribute to imposter syndrome.
Scholarly reviews suggest imposterism in leadership isn’t simply an individual psychological issue. It’s influenced by organisational cultures, gendered expectations and systemic barriers, making leaders from under-represented groups more susceptible to feelings of inadequacy.

Key Insights for Leadership Practice:
* - Imposter syndrome isn’t just psychological; it’s shaped by gendered structures. Women’s self-doubt in leadership often reflects broader cultural and systemic influences rather than just individual personality.
- - Women leaders frequently internalise pressures from gender norms in leadership roles. This can lower perceived credibility and mask true competency even in highly successful women.
- - Effective mitigation requires a multi-level approach. It combines individual supports like mentoring with organisational change to address bias and promote equity.

If you’ve reached this point, you’ve already made significant progress. Maintain honesty and authenticity but also believe in yourself. Just as the message on my coffee cup says: Be Kind to yourself. The mental load women carry is heavy. 💪🏻

I have to share these partial results as they are too good not to post!!! We are halfway through my treatment plan with this lovely lady who wanted a natural untouched look, and wanted to appear fresh and rested. When we think of aesthetics we all go straight to duck lips and terrible facelifts and overfilling! I don’t do that to my patients!! Soft, subtle, natural enhancements to provide confidence, to feel good and look great….with real results with a long lasting effect. This treatment plan was completed at

Treatment Indication:
- Skin laxity
- Perioricular deep set wrinkles
- Mid face volume loss
- Thinning skin
- Jowls
- Neck wrinkling
- Mandibular bone shrinkage

Treatment plan:
- Morpheus 8 face (x 3)
- PRP/Vampire Facial
- Midface filler
- Exosomes.
These results are only after 2 sessions!!!

- Reduced depth of wrinkles
- More contoured jawline
- Wrinkle reduction to whole face and neck

I’m not so great at posting before and after pics of my aesthetic work, but this is TOO GOOD not to share.

With all the trending aesthetic treatments out there promising the world…. “we” (patients and doctors) must remember …

Is it evidence based
Is it safe
Is it just a fad
What research has gone into supporting this technique or product?
How good is my injector?
Can the injector fix complications?

Exosomes are a current fad… some products show amazing promise and have the medical studies to back up their claims. But some definitely do NOT! I use the brand as they actually have studies!! These are allowed to be administered to the skin in the UK with microneedling. But NOT INJECTED. THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW.

However the best and only “non-foreign body” treatment which harnesses the patients own healing properties is fat grafting. Fat grafting is well known for harvesting our own exosomes, growth factors and intercell messengers to heal and rejuvenate any tissues applied too, but also can add volume to the mid face. THEY ARE PERFECTLY SAFE TO INJECT INTO THE FACE AS THEY ARE THE PATIENTS OWN CELLS and regulations allow us to do so.

Here I have applied fat grafts (aspirated fat cells) to the face for a non-surgical facelift and we were blown away with the immediate results to the nasolabial and marionette lines. We addressed the mid-face volume loss.

Thanks to the seffiline technique I can aspirate fat cells safely and re-inject them into the face for amazing rejuvenated results lasting 18 months +++++ without compromising patient safety.
