Today is Leek show day at Wansbeck, produce kindly donated by the Pegswood allotments association after their annual Leek show. residents enjoyed seeing all the fabulous leeks, onions, beetroot, tomatoes, runner beans, flowers and other items. We reminisced about the leek shows of years gone by when some of the residents used to enter their own vegetables into local Leek shows. We are looking forward to home made broth and bread buns for tea.

Wansbeck super hero's had a wonderful afternoon on Friday with lots of singing and dancing with Steve. our very own super well being leads lead the way with their specially designed outfits and residents wore the capes they had made them selves. everyone agreed it had been a lovely day

Today is super hero day across the Marton care homes, celebrating all the every days hero who work and live in our homes whilst raising money for the Alzheimer's society Wansbeck is partying with residents wearing their home made capes and Steve in singing for us here's a few of our costumes. watch out for part 2. our very own super dog cilla enjoyed dressing up as her favourite Captain America :)

Marton care is celebrating all our unsung every day heroes with parties in all their homes. Have a think who your hero is, and add it too our board it could be someone famous or not, someone who has really made a difference to your life.
We think that everyone who works at Wansbeck is a hero.
