Emma is now a physiotherapist passing her BSc with flying colours 🥳🎉
 
As well as studying to be a physiotherapist she has also Completed the AACP Acupuncture course, Sports massage course as well as her Pitch side first aid course.

She has been working as a sports massuse at NV Physiotherapy for 6 months now with raving reviews for our clients and we are very happy she is joining our team as a physiotherapist.

As well as this she has been working at a rugby club along side their medical staff using her massage and pitch side first aid weekly.

She has a strong interest as well as a wealth of knowledge in sports, including marathon running and weight training having competed in these since mid teens.
 
As always we strive for perfection at NV Physiotherapy, using an evidence based approach to physiotherapy, we are delighted for her to bring her practical knowlege into the clinic and helping us keep up our high standards.

We’re excited to announce that for the third consecutive year, NV Physiotherapy will be at the Chorley 2KM/10KM event on May 4th, offering FREE sports massages to all participants before and after the race. 💪🏼

🌟 Client Spotlight 🌟

As you may have seen in our earlier posts, our client John was training for Manchester Marathon to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young. A Charity massively close to his heart.

After injuring his Plantar fascia he came to NV Physiotherapy for some helping getting to the start line..

Some pain in his knee and cramp at 16 miles (to be expected in the heat of Sunday) he soldiered on and absolutely smashed it.

Congratulations John. You are part of the 1% club! And more importantly an inspiration!

🌟 5 Ways to Reduce Injuries 🌟

As an MSK Physiotherapist, I often see how small changes can make a big difference in preventing injuries.

Here are my top five tips to keep you moving safely:

1️⃣ **Warm Up Properly**: Always take the time to warm up your muscles and joints before any physical activity. This helps increase blood flow and prepares your body for exercise.

2️⃣ **Stay Consistently Hydrated**: Hydration is key 🔑! Drinking enough water helps maintain your body’s performance and can prevent cramps and fatigue.

3️⃣ **Listen to Your Body**: Pay attention to what your body is telling you. If you’re feeling pain or discomfort, it’s essential to take a step back and rest.

4️⃣ **Follow a Plan, Not Your Ego**: Stick to a structured workout plan that suits your fitness level instead of pushing beyond your limits. Let your goals guide you, not your ego.

5️⃣ **Incorporate Plyometrics**: Add plyometric exercises to your routine to improve strength, speed, and agility, but ensure you’re doing them with the right form.

John’s Fundraiser for Cardiac Risk in the Young ❤️

One of our amazing patients John is running the Manchester marathon this April to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young.

Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.

With the money raised from fundraisers like John’s, Cardiac Risk in the Young can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death.

🌟 Welcome Emma to the NV Physiotherapy Team! 🌟

We are thrilled to introduce our newest member of the NV team, Emma! She is a qualified massage therapist with additional training in acupuncture. Emma is also currently a student in physiotherapy, and is set to qualify in July. She brings a fresh perspective and enthusiasm to our practice.

Starting this Sunday 9th February, Emma will be holding special clinics dedicated to sports massages.
