🧘♀️Pose of the Week🧘
💪Mountain
Another pose to try with your child
⭐Mountain pose is not just about standing still which can be tricky in itself for many people, especially some children. Think about standing tall and proud with a straight back and head held high. Encourage your child to think about their breath going in and out and sending beautiful energy around their still body
⭐Standing grounded and tall helps to create focus and strength and a feeling of achievement
✅Calms the mind and helps to reduce stress
✅Helps with focus and concentration
✅Improves balance and posture
✅Strengthening
✅Good for self esteem
🧘Keep breathing steady throughout - younger toddlers and children may only hold for a few seconds but older children will hold longer and will enjoy the challenge of prolonged focus
🧘♀️🤔 What character will your child be when they are doing this pose - a tall mountain, a statue, a secret door into a magical place?
🧘♂️Remember - yoga is not a competition so it is not about holding the pose the longest, or stretching the furthest we are all different and every practise is different

⚠️Never force a pose - if it hurts, STOP. Yoga should not hurt
😊Keep it short and sweet for younger children
😂Keep it fun and silly, maybe even very noisy
