Matt is a tree surgeon who injured his back lifting a heavy tree. 🌳🪚

He was in lots of pain and had experienced this happening on a recurring basis, resulting in Matt really losing his confidence with bending and lifting, whilst at work.

Matt came to see Laura at Wrightington, and as you can see has made a great recovery, and is happy to be enjoying work with new found confidence in his back! To help him achieve this, treatment sessions focused on movement control exercises of the lower back, plus, core and gluteal strengthening exercises. 💪 🏋️

Matt doesn’t fear quick, uncontrolled movement any more, and is feeling so much more confident in the strength in his back. We are happy that Matt is back doing what he loves! 🌲☺️

🌟Karen’s Achilles Journey🌟

We’ve been working with Karen since early March 2025, helping her tackle a really stubborn case of insertional Achilles tendinopathy. 🏃‍♀️💪 Because her symptoms had been around for about 18 months, we knew we needed a slow and progressive loading plan. ⌛️

We introduced shockwave therapy, which was a game-changer in reducing her pain enough so she could do more rehab comfortably. The key was being very selective about when to add extra load based on her symptoms. Even though it’s been a long road, Karen’s dedication has paid off. 👏

We’ve now got her confidently doing plyometrics and loading appropriately, and by December, she managed multiple 5Ks — even a Christmas Day parkrun — with minimal pain. 🎄🏃‍♀️

It’s all down to her patience, consistency, and understanding that these things take time. She’s been a fantastic student, and while we’re not completely at the finish line, Karen’s well on her way to being pain-free. 🌟😊

Aaron is a former Royal Marines Commando who lost his leg in Afghanistan in 2009. And he has set himself the incredible challenge of cycling the entire 2,517 mile stretch of the legendary Route 66 in just 24 days! With no rest days, might we add! 🚴‍♂️🛣

This challenge will not only see Aaron take on 2 Guinness World Records; the first amputee to do so, and the fastest person to do so. He is also raising money for 4 fantastic causes;
