Prescribing update 💊

From August - November 2025, as a Practice population we saved the NHS £4,173 in costs by changing brands of medicines that are prescribed. 💷

Thank you to all of our patients who have allowed the brand of their medications to be swapped. You get the same ingredients and the same benefit, but save the NHS money.

The money saved does NOT go to the Practice or the doctors, but is saved in the wider NHS budget, so it can be used elsewhere in the system.

We are also doing a lot of work changing patients to safer and more modern inhalers for asthma. The new, 2 in 1 combination inhaler helps to controls your asthma so you get less flare ups AND you can use it extra on days where you feel short of breath.
Please book an appointment with the asthma Nurse if you are concerned about your asthma medication or if you would like more information.

❗❗ Formula Recall ❗❗

You may have heard or seen on the news that SMA have announced a product recall on some infant formulas.

We have been informed of a recall on SMA infant formula and follow on formula. If you have purchased or been prescribed one of the batches listed in the below link, please do not feed it to your baby and speak to your Healthcare Professional for advice on an alternative.

There have been no confirmed reports of any illness associated with consumptions of the products confirmed. Nevertheless, out of an abundance of caution, Nestle has decided to perform this voluntary product recall in line with the strict product quality and safety protocols.
