An afternoon being serenaded by the lovely French singer, Louis.
He had us all waving our arms, tapping our hands, dancing with our feet and moving our bodies in time with the music.
Music helps our minds to be calm and helps us remember times from long ago.
What a relaxing way to end the week.

Wierd and wonderful fun facts and knowledge, brought our afternoon quiz to life!

Everything from the colour of a giraffe's tongue, naming the seven dwarfs, to who was The Iron Lady??...got our residents laughing and thinking hard!

Starting the new year off by getting energised and moving.
We played all sorts of physical games this afternoon. Getting our arms and legs moving!
Our hand eye coordination was well and truly tested when Natasha had us bouncing the ping pong ball on the bat.

Its been a day of pampering. The lovely Denise came this morning and worked her magic hands with our hair. Wash cut and blow dry and a gossip. Just what the doctor ordered.
Then this afternoon we had a wellbeing afternoon which consisted of... Nail painting 💅
We choose which colour we wanted and if we wanted to jazz it up by adding glitter or not.
During the nail painting we discussed how good having some pampering made us feel more like ourselves.
Fresh hair and fresh nails.... where's the red carpet?

Our Games Afternoon put our residents and families through their paces!

Ball and target games, got us energised on this cold afternoon and this was swiftly followed by a lovely game of BINGO!

Well done to everyone who took part and especially to Kelvin for sharing his amazing football skills, and to Natasha who was our caller today!

Mid week sing song with Al from music in mind.
We enjoyed singing songs from the 60s 70s and 80s. We even got personal shout outs and requests, from the likes of ABBA all the way through to country music. Something for everyone.
There was lots of foot tapping and clapping along to the songs.
Music significantly enhances our quality of life, by reducing anxieties, agitation and depression, reducing the need for medications in some instances. It can help cognitive functions by triggering memory recall. "I remember being in the dance hall with the girls dancing to this".
