🌟 Bonus Ball Raffle 🌟

In Memory of Logan James Croniken 💙

We are raising funds for Manchester Children’s Hospital (PICU - Paediatric Intensive Care Unit) in memory of Logan James Croniken, a little boy that we sadly looked after a few weeks ago.

Here is Logan’s Story:

Logan was a healthy child full of energy with a great smile and full of mischief.

He began with Jaundice in May 2024, before developing unusual bruising in July 2024, 2 days prior to his 3rd Birthday.

Logan spent his Birthday in Blackburn Hospital climbing under his bed as Spiderman and following blood and platelets transfusions showed no signs of being unwell.

Logan was admitted to Manchester Children's Hospital and was diagnosed with the rare condition of Aplastic Anaemia.

He was released home with weekly visits to Manchester to receive blood and platelets until a bone marrow donor was found, remaining in isolation until his admission into Manchester children's Hospital Bone Marrow Unit.

Logan remained in isolation getting through chemotherapy, radiotherapy and his transplant in December 2024, separated from his sister. Logan recovered well and shocked his consultants with the speed of his recovery.

Logan came home mid-January 2025 with his parents to his older sister Harmony. Logan remained well for 3 weeks before he developed a temperature requiring another admission to Manchester children's Hospital.

He became unwell and within a few hours required 100% oxygen. In 24 hours, Logan's ability to breath was deteriorating and he was taken into surgery to complete a procedure on his lungs to identify what was wrong. He was placed into an induced coma and transferred to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.

After a number of weeks Logan was brought out of his coma and every attempt was made to identify the cause of fluid build-up in his lungs. He developed pancreatitis causing his condition to deteriorate, but Logan continued to fight.

Logan had a brief period where he appeared to improve, and he was taken off his ventilator and used a ventilated mask and the family prepared for a long recovery, and he was measured for a wheelchair.

Sadly, Logan began to slowly deteriorate and was placed back onto a ventilator. Logan was able to play his switch and X-Box whilst he was awake, and when he was weak he used a holder to take the weight so he could play his games.

Logan developed his own means of communication, and bravely dealt with whatever came his way each day.

Logan endured pain of lung biopsies and other procedures, and he was eventually diagnosed with a rare complication - Transplant Associated TMA. This caused blood clots in the small blood vessels. The condition could impact a variety of organs, but Logan's was his lungs.

The NHS sourced support from a specialist in Chicago and medication was flown from America. They received support from Great Ormond and Alder Hey Hospitals and fought to the very last to save him.

Logan fought so very hard and loved life. He played his X-Box games even when his oxygen levels dipped to 60% and enjoyed his favourite book 'I need a new bum' read by his grandad. He fell asleep to another book as he began to lose his battle.

Logan passed in his arms of his parents listening to the Imperial March which he loved to listen to related to his love of Darth Vader and Star Wars.

Logan was an amazing child who made the most of the time and situation he endured. He is an inspiration to us all.

We recently carried out a funeral for a special little boy called Logan who sadly lost his courageous battle on the 20th May 2025.

Logan had a love for all things Star Wars, so much so, his service was lead by Darth Vader himself or as we know him Tony Mather Funeral Celebrant.

May he Rest in Peace ✝️

We have received some lovely cards and gifts for our wonderful team. So thoughtful 💕
