Cold laser therapy offers several benefits primarily related to pain relief, tissue repair, and reduction of inflammation. Key benefits include:
Pain relief: It provides effective pain reduction without the use of drugs and is considered a safe alternative to painkillers, with minimal to no side effects.
Enhanced healing: The therapy stimulates cellular regeneration, promoting tissue repair by affecting collagen formation, reducing inflammation, and supporting new blood vessel growth.
Reduced inflammation: It helps to dial down localized inflammation quickly, which contributes to symptom relief.
Accelerated recovery: By stimulating the body's natural reparative processes at the cellular level, cold laser therapy helps speed up healing, supporting recovery from injuries and chronic conditions.
Non-invasive and no downtime: It does not require surgery or recovery time, allowing patients to return to daily activities immediately after treatment.
Versatile: Useful for a range of conditions including arthritis, tendonitis, back and neck pain, muscle spasms, plantar fasciitis, minor injuries, soft tissue injuries, and even skin rejuvenation.
Customizable: Can target small or large areas effectively and is often combined with other therapies like physical therapy or chiropractic care for enhanced benefits.
Overall, cold laser therapy is a drug-free, noninvasive treatment that promotes healing, reduces pain and inflammation, and accelerates recovery from various conditions affecting muscles, joints, and soft tissues. It is generally considered safe and suitable for repeated use as part of ongoing pain management or healing protocols.

Logan College of Chiropractic: BACKSTORY: THE NORMANDY CAMPUS

In 1936, Dr. Hugh B. Logan purchased the 17-acre Normandy Campus at 7701 Florissant Road, Normandy, MO, located in an Irish neighborhood. At the time, Old Main was the largest building on the property, complemented by smaller buildings. The smaller buildings served multiple purposes, including a post office, grocery store and an on-campus pub called “the Slipped Disc Saloon,” which served beer, wine and hot dogs after the clinic closed for the day. Drs. Hugh B. Logan and Vinton Logan, along with their families, lived on campus alongside most of the teachers and students. Due to the demands of the WWII Draft, the curriculum was changed in 1943 from a four-year of two semesters per year to a three-year, three-trimester per year curriculum. With the influx of GIs taking advantage of the GI Bill, class sizes increased from 25 to 125 students per class. To accommodate for this growth, Dr. Vinton Logan, who succeeded his father as President of Logan Basic College of Chiropractic in 1944, purchased over 100 Army surplus trailers to provide more on-campus housing for students. This area soon became known as “Trailer Town.” In 1946, due to the returning GIs as students, two incoming classes per year started, replacing the original one class per year.
