Tennis elbow
____
Tennis elbow or lateral epicondilitis is an overuse injury that leads to a type of tendonopathy that affects the extensor muscles of the forearm.
___
Tendinosis is different from tendonitis
- Tendinosis refers to the breakdown of collagen in a tendon. This causes burning pain in addition to reduced flexibility and range of motion
-Tendinitis is inflammation or irritation of a tendon — the thick fibrous cords that attach muscle to bone. The condition causes pain and tenderness just outside a joint
___
You get tendinitis before tendinosis, so if you catch it early it might not be a problem but leave it too long and you can find yourself recovering for longer than you had hoped
___
Symptoms of these are the same but Tendinosis usually lasts longer.

Shin splints
___
There are a few different types of shin splints
- Compartment syndrome
- Medial tibial stress syndrome
- Stress fractures
___
Compartment syndrome is when the tibialis anterior (the shin muscle) gets pumped up with blood during a run, but the fascia that runs over the top of the muscle does not stretch which causes compression in the shin and it can be very painful.
___
Medial tibial stress syndrome (MTSS) is an overuse injury or repetitive-stress injury of the shin area. Various stress reactions of the tibia and surrounding musculature occur when the body is unable to heal properly in response to repetitive muscle contractions and tibial strain.
___
Shin splints happen when the muscles, tendons and bone tissue around your shin bone – the tibia – become inflamed. They are a common problem for runners, gymnasts and dancers.
Stress fractures are tiny cracks in the bone.
___
Stay tuned to find out how you can help heal your shin splints and start running without pain once again. if you are suffering from shin splints get in touch for a free 15 minute consultation, email me at info@samuelplove.com

Another exercise you can do for sciatica.
___
I've said it a million times before and I'll probably say it another million times, working on your feet and hips through the medium of taking your shoes off.
___
When you take your shoes off and walk around you start to get more toe extension as well as hip extension. When your gluts get stronger through hip extension the piriformis is less likely to compress on the sciatic nerve and it will help you to stabilise and level out your pelvis.

If you are struggling with hip or back pain get in touch at info@samuelplove.com

This is another great exercise that will help with sciatica.
___
Working on your gluten is very important when you have sciatica as the sciatica my be a symptom of piriformis syndrome
___
Piriformis syndrome is when the muscles underneath the gluts start to become over worked and then compress on the sciatic nerve causing that sciatic pain.
___
If you're struggling with pain in your low back and hims get in touch with me at info@samuelplove.com and book in for a free 15 minute consultation

Sciatic flossing
___
This allows the sciatic nerve to floss through its sheath and helps get rid of any debris that may be resting in the nerve sheath that could be agrivating the sciatic nerve and causing your pain
___
Do this 10x3 set on each leg once a day and see if it makes any difference to you and your pain.
___
If you're suffering from sciatic pain or any other pain get in touch with me at info@samuelplove.com for your FREE 15 minute consultation.

Sciatica
___
I get a lot of people come into clinic telling my they think they have sciatica. Often because they get told that it is. It often isnt.
___
Signs of sciatica
-Moderate to severe low back pain radiating down the glut and leg
-Numbness or weakness in the low back glut and leg
-Pins and needles in the low leg or feet
___
There are a few different reasons that sciatic pain can come about but usually nerve pain is due to compression. With a population that are unable to activate their gluts their piriformis group works harder that compresses on the sciatic nerve causing these symptoms.
___
Throughout the week i will be posting more exercises on how to reduce your sciatic pain.
