It’s with a mixture of sadness and excitement that I write this post. I’m proud of myself for setting up a business from scratch and helping over 50 couples to have a better birth experience, however, I can’t sustain it any longer. I’ve decided to focus my energy elsewhere for the benefit of my own family and little ones, so I won’t be posting regular content anymore. 😢

That said, I’m still here if anyone locally is really keen to do a private hypnobirthing course with me. Do message me for more info. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way, and thank you to all of my lovely clients. I’ve been so privileged to be part of the births of your little babes. Please stay in touch.
And keep doing your calm breathing! 😂👍

I still have days when I cannot believe that I’m no longer an English teacher. That I finally had the courage, and a favourable set of circumstances, which meant that I could leave a job that was sucking the life out of me.

I’m really thankful that I discovered hypnobirthing. It did more for me than just calm births; it actually gave me the motivation to teach something else, and use my skills to help a different set of people.

If you are pregnant and anxious about giving birth, do not let another day go by where you are being robbed of the joy of being pregnant. I can help.

Visit www.hypnobirthingjourney.co.uk for more details about the courses I offer.

Something I’ve learnt recently which has completely changed my view on crying is that the tears you cry out actually contain CORTISOL- the stress hormone.

Crying is actually our body’s way of trying to rid us of stress, physically. That’s why you can’t help it. It’s a built in mechanism designed to make you feel better. Crazy hey?!

So the next time you feel like crying, just cry. It will make you feel better. Don’t hold it in. It’s meant to come out. 😭😭😭😭

The language we use holds a lot of power, and being an ex-English teacher, I know that we attach meaning to everything we say, and that meaning stirs up feelings and emotions.

When you hear the word ‘contraction’ , what image comes into your mind?

Mine is a woman in a hospital bed with her legs in stirrups, screaming in pain. Not the best thing to picture every time someone mentioned contractions to me, or I imagined labour. 😂

So it’s time to try and re-imagine labour, and language has a part to play in that. Let’s talk about powerful waves and surges and imagine each one bringing you closer to meeting your baby. The sensations of the uterus muscles working during labour are a bodily function. You’ve not done it before if you are a first-time mum, so it’s no wonder it feels a bit weird. But you can cope and you will do it. 👍👍👍

Want to try hypnobirthing but worried about what your partner will think? Please don’t be.

It’s actually only the name itself which is a bit woo woo- everything else I teach is completely founded in biology and neuroscience. The more relaxed you are, the easier it is for your uterus muscles to do their job and birth the baby. 👍 So, if you are thinking about doing a hypnobirthing course, but have a reluctant partner, please show them the reviews on Facebook and Google- many are from birth partners who got so much from my course. It really it a course for both parents-to-be ❤️❤️❤️

Happy 5th birthday to my gorgeous little girl. ❤️❤️❤️

May your infectious laugh and kind-hearted nature continue to shine. I don’t know what I’d do without my mini-me. You taught me how to be a mother and we will continue to grow together. ❤️❤️❤️

Celebrate National Read a Book Day with a cozy read and a cup of tea 📚☕️ Take some time for yourself during your pregnancy journey, and learn all about motherhood. This book has really got my experience down to a tee. I wish I’d read this BEFORE I’d became a mother. It would’ve helped me so much. That said, it’s helping me now and I’m 5 years in! If you are in the newborn stage and have your arms full, listen to the audiobook - I promise you won’t regret it.

Aww I love it when my lovely clients take the time to write me a review, especially when they are really pregnant and tired, or with a newborn and tired (there’s a theme here!). It really does mean the world to me and I’m so proud that what I’m doing is having a positive impact on people’s experiences of birth. ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you, Rachel. X###xX

So pleased that it’s becoming more acceptable to co-sleep. Good advice here. 👍

So pleased that it’s becoming more acceptable to co-sleep. Good advice here. 👍

Co-sleeping is when a baby shares the same bed with an adult for most of the night, and not just to be comforted or fed. But whether you have twins, multiples or children of different ages, you should only do so with one child at a time. Find out more about co-sleeping here: https://bit.ly/4dZCxbA The Lullaby Trust
