Recovering from surgery or managing a recent injury? We now offer cold therapy systems for hire to support your recovery at home.

These units provide consistent cooling and compression, helping to:
✔ Reduce swelling
✔ Ease pain
✔ Improve comfort in the early stages of recovery
✔ Support post-op rehab (knee, ankle, shoulder)

🏃‍♂️ It’s running season…

With spring just around the corner, race calendars are starting to fill up and plenty of people are getting back out on the roads and trails.

As mileage builds and training picks up, we often start to see some of the classic running ni**les appear — things like plantar fasciitis, runner’s knee, shin splints, Achilles tendinopathy, and heel fat pad irritation.

The good news is that many of these issues can be managed (or even avoided) with a few simple principles:
✔ Gradually building your running load
✔ Including some strength work alongside your miles
✔ Taking the time to warm up properly before sessions

We’ve also included a few local races coming up over the next few weeks, so if you’ve got one of these in the diary — good luck with the training! 👟

If a ni**le has already started creeping in, or something doesn’t feel quite right as you increase your mileage, getting it looked at early can make a big difference. A bit of guidance now can help keep your training on track rather than forcing time off later.

It’s that time of year when our hands work overtime — carrying heavy Christmas shopping bags, wrapping endless presents, writing cards, cooking, decorating… it all adds up!
So if you’ve noticed wrist or forearm pain creeping in, you’re definitely not alone.

Here are some of the most common issues we see at this time of year:
✨ Tendinopathy – from lots of gripping and lifting
✨ Osteoarthritis flares – cold weather + busier hands can irritate joints
✨ General inflammation – simply doing more than usual
✨ Stress fatigue – stress and general fatigue can often present the most in our joints

The good news? A couple of simple movements can help settle things down:

Quick Exercises to Try

1️⃣ Wrist Rolls
• Make a gentle fist and slowly rotate your wrists in both directions
• Keep the movement smooth
✔ Great for loosening things up after lots of wrapping or carrying bags.

2️⃣ Weighted Wrist Extensions
• Rest your forearm on a table, holding a light dumbbell (or a tin of beans!)
• Lift your hand up slowly, then lower with control
• 3 x 8–12 reps
✔ Builds resilience in the wrist and forearm to handle festive loads, as well as tackling any underlying tendinopathy.
