Happy lunar new year! 2023 is the year of the water rabbit 🌑 🐇 🌊
Commonly known as Chinese new year, today marks the start of the festival of spring celebrated in many Asian countries on the first new moon of the year.
Although the season surrounding us still feels wintery, this celebration signifies the end of the coldest and darkest winter days. Now is when we begin to feel a subtle hint of spring in the air and the first buds are seen. The days are lengthening and the temperature is rising as we begin to gently transition into the more yang aspect of the year.
Traditional celebrations include:
🧹'Sweeping the dust' to bid farewell to the old and welcome the new
🏮Decorating to keep evil away and encourage blessings, longevity & health
🧧Gift giving (especially money to children)
🍜Feasting with the whole family
How will you be celebrating?
