Laura Colquhoun is a therapist based in Cirencester, Gloucestershire providing counselling and psychotherapy for depression, addiction, relationships, anxiety and much more. Therapy comes in all different shapes and forms and I believe the mode of therapy should fit the client, we are all individuals after all.
I practice Integrative Therapy which means I draw on theory from Psychodynamic, Psych
oanalytic and Person Centred schools. I also have an interest in Jungian and Gestalt theories and am continuingly looking at new teachings to find the best way to work with and help my clients. This might be through art, drawing, music or experiential exercise and perhaps mindfulness and meditation. Sometimes all a client needs is someone just to really listen to them and to accept what they are saying in a non judgemental way, giving them the space to get to know themselves completely. Therapy is normally conducted with weekly sessions, at a time which is convenient to the client, where they can commit to the number of sessions that are needed to affect change. This is decided after an initial hour-long assessment and when the work commences by looking at and constructing a plan and contract and by continually examining the work as it progresses. I put you, the client, at the centre of the work and believe that together we can work collaboratively to help you manage your life more happily and successfully. I have experience of working with:
