Menopause and mental health are still widely misunderstood — not just in the UK, but globally.
As a British GP, consultant physician in family medicine, and menopause specialist, I see every week how hormonal changes in midlife can affect mood, sleep, cognition, and functioning — especially in high-achieving women juggling work, family, and stress.
We need a more integrated approach to women’s health.
Hormones, mental health, and life context cannot be treated in separate boxes.
This conversation is long overdue.
