Well it’s a Friday of lots of good news!!!

The results from our inspection by Care Inspectorate for Wales are in! The report is now published. The report recognises how embedded within the whole organisation promotes wellbeing with the people we support and our team members.

Honestly, we are so proud and overwhelmed by this recognition.

Waking up to amazing news this morning, one of the children we support in our short stay therapeutic residential service has worn pyjamas and slept in his own bed at home with his family every night this week!

The young person began staying with us one night a week as soon as we opened, a month ago. Our team have worked on sleeping in a bed as a priority. This young man has had a tough time, lots of behaviours that challenge and his family were asking for help to know how to help him to improve all of their lives.

To hear about the work parents have done to achieve the generalisation to home is exactly what our residential service is all about, it is why we set it up. Mum’s words ‘This has been by far the best week we’ve had’. 🥰

This is a young man who in September:
🚙 refused to get out of his car for hours,
💥 spent much of his time hitting walls, objects and people,
😫 was very distressed frequently,
🗣️ didn’t communicate his needs and wants vocally,
⛔️ couldn’t say no when he didn’t want something and would throw items across the room,
🚪 was scared of any threshold, doors, gates anything.

Today, we couldn’t be prouder! Today he walked all around the care farm, watered the vegetables, transitioned through numerous gates, held our hands to walk (which is a massive achievement and has taken months of work), transitioned into a new building, asked for the things he wanted and said no when he didn’t want something and so much more!

Honestly, he has blown us away! It’s been months of slow, steady, dedicated step by step programme implementation by the team. An incredible, amazing, inspirational young man. We are so proud of you and the team who have assisted you. 👏 💫 ⭐️🎉

A Hoppy Easter Weekend at the Care Farm! 🐣
We had an incredible Easter weekend filled with sunshine, smiles, and plenty of "egg-citing" activities! 🌷 From hunting for colourful eggs along the fence line to getting creative with Easter crafts, it was all about building connections and enjoying the great outdoors.
Seeing our learners engage with the farm environment while practicing their communication and motor skills is the best treat we could ask for. We hope everyone had a weekend as bright and joyful as ours! ☀️✨
