A direct cremation doesn't preclude having a meaningful ceremony to celebrate your loved one's life.
Many people choose to hold a memorial service or celebration of life after the cremation, where a eulogy can be read, friends and family can share memories, and other rituals can be included.
It's a way to honour the person in a manner that's personal and respectful, without the need for a traditional funeral.
The important thing is that the service reflects the deceased's life and the wishes of the family.
