Dear valued customers and friends
I want to take a moment to share a personal update, just to explain my recent absence from work

Over the past several weeks, I’ve been managing a flareup of complex health conditions ME/CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome)  alongside adrenal insufficiency, (also known as secondary Addison’s disease).

 In short my body went through a significant health event, most likely triggered by stress and a severe migraine and my nervous system hasn’t fully recovered. As a result, I’ve experienced extreme fatigue, difficulty processing information quickly and slower speech at times.
While I remain fully capable and committed to my work, I’ve needed time to rest and recover in order to manage my health properly.

This condition isn’t just about being tired -it’s a complex, neurological and hormonal imbalance that can be made worse by stress or overstimulation. Unfortunately, I didn’t realise how seriously it was affecting me until it became impossible to ignore. I’m now aware of the challenges and actively working on a recovery plan with appropriate support.

I would just like to reassure you that I remain dedicated to providing care, service, or support you expect from me -I just need to do so at a slightly slower and more measured pace for now. I truly appreciate your patience, kindness, and understanding during this time.

I would like to wish in the new year to all I hold dear.
2024, has been a very difficult time for so many.
2024, for me, has been a tangled mess a bit like a knot that you can’t undo until right at the very end, so I would like to say a big farewell and good riddance to all the obstacles that have been faced and overcome.

As we move forward into 2025 I’m setting my intention and invite you to join me in creating our own golden times.

All we need to do is make space for our own self care this is crucial to living a happier life. My intention is now set!

Here is what to do, Gift your self time, space, love, compassion and nourishment.

With this comes an abundance of wonderful things for when you are truly the embodiment of all of these things, you are then able to gift these things to everyone around you without depleting, your very essence, your energy, your spark, only then can you truly be the light in the dark not only to others, but to yourself. 🙏🏻 🥰

RIP Trevor Sorbie mynewhair by Trevor Sorbie You’ve touched so many life’s, I will always hold the many memorys I got to share inc your cheeky banter, you gave so much of yourself from opening my clinic to inviting me to be part of the team at the L’Oréal studios to help with the “my new hair salons that care brochure.’You put your everything in to the education of others, your selflessness was unending, Thailand and vegas wig seminars and shows was always memorable you helped me name my business and you opened my clinic. When I was in the royal marsden hospital awaiting my operation you gave great advice and was so kind even though you was laid up with a sciatic nerve. A truly selfless man and it was an honour to have known you . My heart goes out to your lovely wife and family in such a truly sad time ♥️.

It is with heartfelt emotion that we share the passing of our esteemed founder, Trevor Sorbie MBE. Trevor passed away peacefully with his family and beloved dog by his side. Trevor’s journey, marked by unparalleled creativity and kindness, has left an indelible mark on the world of hairdressing and beyond.
From pioneering The Wedge five decades ago to establishing our first salon in 1979, Trevor’s vision set new standards and continues to inspire generations. As we commemorate 45 years of Trevor Sorbie salons, we remain steadfast in upholding the passion, artistry, and dedication that he embodied.
Trevor often reminded us to “be bold, be different, but always do everything in good taste.” His ethos of kindness, care, and excellence continues to guide us. He expressed immense pride in our team and confidence in our commitment to carrying forward his legacy.
Honouring Trevor’s wishes, there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to support four charities: Marie Curie, Cancer Research UK, Rowans Hospice and My New Hair, all close to his heart. We also plan to celebrate his remarkable life and contributions with a special event next year and will share details in due course.
Thank you for being an integral part of our community and for your continued support as we honour Trevor’s legacy.

20yrs ago this year I was diagnosed with the stage 3 aggressive Breast Cancer and due to the size of it the tumour was inoperable. The treatment plan was 8 doses of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy followed by radiotherapy and eventually a full hysterectomy.
Devastated that i would lose my hair with everything my body was about to go through, it was losing my hair that bothered me the most at that time. More so than losing both of my breasts . I started chemo in October and lost my hair on bonfire night. Never in a million years  would I have believed the journey I was to take as a result of that diagnosis and 20 years on I’m still pushing forwards grateful for all that life offers me. I don’t take anything for granted anymore and I treasure my children, grandchildren family and loved ones as they make it all worth while, and to all of you that have touched my life and maybe I’ve touched yours as a result. I thank you every one of you 💗💞💓💕💖🌸💝🌷🎀🩷💖
