Katherine came and helped with my Mum for the last few years of her life when she was suffering with Parkinson’s and dementia.

Quite frankly I cannot overstate my gratitude and admiration for all she did for us and will forever be grateful that she was introduced to us by a mutual friend, we were very lucky indeed for this to have happened.

Katherine was an absolute ray of light in difficult times, quite unlike any of the other carers we had tried previously. She was always so positive and happy, her influence on mum was immense, always smiling and creating joy whenever she came.

All this was aside from the absolute top notch level of care and hard work she provided, for example helping mum to continue having baths (which she loved) through pure physical strength of mind and body, without all the specialist equipment (hoists, etc) that can so often make the procedure become a clinical exercise, rather than the luxurious spa-like pleasure it was to become in her capable hands. Mum would virtually be glowing on these days and you could see the pleasure she got from it even though she would have previously declined any pampering, Katherine always worked her magic.

Other things they did together were like two friends having fun, rather than tiresome forced activities to fill time which can so often be the case with some carers and care homes.

She kept mum’s mind going by gently learning new things (for example counting in Spanish) as well as revisiting old things, like memorising much loved poems for them to recite together.

Katherine would take mum out on “expeditions and adventures” always returning tired, but so happy.

All of this while cooking wonderful food favourites and as well as cleaning and tidying too!

I can’t over emphasise what an absolute pleasure it has been to have met Katherine and how lucky we were for her to have been such a joyous and helpful part of our lives.

I would highly recommend Katherine to anyone in need of help with themself or an aging loved one, you could not put yourself, or them, in a more pleasurable, happy and safe pair of hands.

Yours sincerely (and gratefully)
