Tomorrow Clevedon Cars & Coffee® will unveil their tribute to Richard Stephens who made the first ever motor car here in Clevedon.
The unveiling will be tomorrow morning at six ways roundabout. Hope to see you there.
This tribute is to Mark Clevedon Cars & Coffee whose vision and dedication have magnificently brought to life a pivotal piece of Clevedon's engineering past, culminating in the thrilling unveiling of the first Clevedon car replica this Saturday at 11.00 a.m.
Mark’s remarkable journey to honour the town's heritage began just last year, in 2023, when he first learned about Richard Stephens, the brilliant inventor behind the original vehicles.
Since then, he has not only spearheaded the creation of this stunning replica, built by Ryan Atkins in Lincoln, but has also meticulously organised its unveiling. This event beautifully ties into the monthly Clevedon Cars & Coffee meet, which Mark himself started four years ago, bringing together car enthusiasts from across the community.
While numerous dedicated local members and organisations have generously contributed their time and resources to this ambitious project, it is truly Mark's unwavering vision and relentless drive that ensured it came to fruition.
Through his tireless efforts, the remarkable legacy of Richard Stephens and the pioneering spirit of early British engineering are now vibrantly celebrated and enduringly remembered right here in Clevedon.
