Start from the ground up. Learn the basics from asana / postures, to breath work and meditation. Learn about the benefits of yoga and the transformative effects of a regular practice.

Join us on a Saturday morning 9.30am for a 75min class. Held at Clevedon Community Centre.

This week we've been working around the hips for flexibility, mobility and functional movement. Building strength and engagement where we need, but also how we can create space in the body.

Trusting ourselves and developing confidence as we move through our practice and listen to our intuition so that we support ourself with what we need. Working with a sense of effort and ease.

Flow to Open Your Hip & Find Balance
Warrior ll - Triangle - High lunge - Standing Split - Supported Half Moon.

This flow helps you
*Strengthen your legs and hips
*Improve balance and coordination
*Create space through your chest and side body
*Feel grounded and light

Move slowly, breathe steadily (rougly 5 breaths in each hold), and feel into a sense space and balance. See what you notice...and have fun.

Start in Warrior ll / Virabhadrasana

Feet wide, front knee over ankle, arms reaching wide.
Feel your back leg anchor you while your front thigh turns open from the hip.

From Warrior ll transition to Triangle pose / Trikonasana, straighten your front leg and lift quads, tip over staying long through the waist.

Bend your front knee and pivot to face forward into a high lunge / Ashta Chandrasana.

Your back leg stays active, pressing through the heel to lift the back of the thigh.

Shift your weight into your front foot, lift the back leg, and fold forward into Standing Split / Urdva Prasarita Eka Padasana.
Think of lifting from your inner thigh, not your lower back.

Now moving into Half Moon Pose / Ardha Chandrasana open your chest and hips using a block or support. Feel as if the crown of you head, your heart, and your lifted heel are all reaching in different directions.

Breathe steadily, come out when ready and slowly move to the other side :)

August - Adapt and align

This month in class, we're exploring the art of adapting our practice to suit the season, our energy, and what's truly needed in the moment.

With the warm August weather, we've been moving in a more restorative way. Starting with cooling, floorbased postures, allowing the body and mind to settle before more dynamic movement, using the breath to soothe and restore the nervous system.

Adapting doesn't mean doing less, it's means listening, supporting yourself , and moving in a way that's builds resilience, rather than depletes.

Showing up consistently, whatever the weather, creates a steady anchor in your life.

If there is anything here that peeks your interest please get in touch.
There are classcards to chose from to include discount for twice a week practice, drop in options available and classcard to cover breaks or holidays but still get the discount offered to regular weekly students.

With all current clevedon yoga students there is access to the online Clevedon Yoga Space which is a free resource for all students.
