About Parkinson’s
Parkinson’s Disease is caused by decreased amounts of dopamine, an important neurotransmitter in the basal ganglia of the brain. This decrease can cause difficulty with movement control leading to stiffness and tightness of muscles, tremor, poor mobility and balance. A physiotherapist will use a variety of techniques such as stretches and mobilisation as well as a full exercise and balance re-education programme to maintain and improve function.
Physio Rehabilitation
We provide specialist neuro physiotherapy for people with Parkinson’s. After a thorough assessment, we create a personalised treatment plan to improve balance, mobility and strength. We combine physiotherapy with Pilates, using specialist equipment to maximise results.
