Why do we love cupping?

- it’s one of few therapies that is non compressive, so feels very lifting between skin, fascia and muscle
- promotes healing
- reduces tightness
- leaves cool marks to brag about 😎

If only there was a therapist that told you what you CAN do instead of what you can’t do…;)

As humans we are always searching for an answer, a diagnosis, a label…

But a quick diagnosis or self diagnosis might not give you the clarity you hoped it would bring. And no diagnosis is 100% accurate without scans and deep investigations.

Sometimes it might be better for patients to simplify injuries. I.e I have a knee injury - what is weak? How can we strengthen it. What is tight, why is it tight and does it need stretching?

If you tore your bicep…would you rehab it?

So why are we not treating Grade 2 and over perineal tears like we would a torn muscle!

Something to think about! Torn muscles need rest, scar tissue release and strengthening, why should the pelvic floor be any different?

A quick way to try and prevent leaking postpartum…

Learn how to engage the FRONT of your pelvic floor

Try now - see if you’re able to focus more of the contraction to the front of your pelvic floor around your urethra

….possibly needs updating/modernising…..

I think whenever you feel ready too you should feel it’s acceptable to start light breathing and Pilates exercises or even gentle stretching if that’s what your body needs

Of course this depends on your birth, but what ever happened to trusting your instinct and listening to your body like you did throughout your whole pregnancy?

Gentle exercises leading up to 6 weeks might act as a stepping stone to better prepare your body for exercise again

(Plus walking is recommended after giving birth - that can be quite difficult exercise after both caesarian or vaginal births!)
