My name is Katrina Rosa and I'm a qualified yoga teacher (Mandala Yoga Ashram, Wales) with over 35 years experience of yoga practice and 15 years experience of bodywork (Shiatsu). What is Hatha Yoga?
“ . . . a set of physical exercises (known as asanas or postures), and sequences of asanas, designed to align your skin, muscles, and bones. The postures are also designed to open the many channels of

the body—especially the main channel, the spine—so that energy can flow freely. . . Hatha yoga is a powerful tool for self-transformation. It asks us to bring our attention to our breath, which helps us to still the fluctuations of the mind and be more present in the unfolding of each moment.” Yoga Journal
What does sadhana mean?
“Sādhanā is a discipline undertaken in the pursuit of a goal . . . literally "a means of accomplishing something”.

Fresh herbs are an important part of the traditional Mediterranean Diet. That’s especially true in Italy, where an observational study found just how healthy they may be. The researchers found an amazing 44% risk reduction for melanoma among those who consumed fresh herbs (rosemary, basil, sage and parsley) at least 4 times weekly. Rosemary was the most potent, with a 60% risk reduction among regular consumers. Intriguingly, separate lab studies have shown extracts were highly toxic to human melanoma cells in a test tube, killing up to 95% of the cells. All this points to fresh as being an important part of a varied and healthy diet—especially when the summer sun is out! Sources: Pubmed ID 26176704, 18621803.

Sweet potato are a true superfood. They’re loaded with flavonoids, have 20% more lutein than spinach and 50% more potassium than bananas. This leafy vegetable is also a uniquely rich source of caffeoylquinic acids (like chlorogenic acid) which are powerful anticancer compounds. In one lab study, sweet potato leaf extract suppressed human lung cells in a test tube by an incredible 90%. But are they healthy for people? A remarkable observational study in Taiwan suggests yes. It found 57% less lung cancer risk among those eating at least 130 grams of sweet potato greens per week. In clinical trials, they’ve also boosted immune cell response in humans. All for just 42 calories per delicious serving.

Love this mischievous wisdom 🤣

>>>The enemy, or difficult boss or neighbour, instead of treating them as if they were the problem, we place them in our head as our guru, because they teach us how to be patient. We say, “Thank you, you are really horrible!”. It makes up laugh and opens a c***k in a very different way. We can take a very poisonous situation and transform it into nectar. This is where our free will comes in; how we choose to react to what happens. We should go beyond the push-button reaction, which is instinctive and unskillful. - Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo

Society presents strength as the capacity to do more harm to others than they can do to us. But from the spiritual point of view, it is quite the contrary, this is a weakness. If patience is based on genuine compassion, this is a very great strength, because we are not moved. If we are angry against someone angry with us, it is just plugging in on his or her negativity. Especially in later lojong versions, there is emphasis on the right attitude in front of obstacles and negativities or diseases, which we should turn into something positive.

Whether it’s the pandemic fallout or news of Afghanistan, we take to meditation or mindfulness as a means of coping. However, if you’re not getting calmer; or worse, are getting more agitated, here's why.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year - may 2021 be the year of your continued transformation.
"Peace comes only from contemplation. An hour of contemplation is equal to a year of adoration. Without peace, there can be no happiness. That is why every war ends and must end in peace. It is because of the supreme importance of peace for happiness, the goal of man, that prayer ends with an adjuration to peace Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti. "
