During our post natal MOT and pelvic health assessments we may use both external and internal pelvic floor assessments to help us understand what might be causing your symptoms.

One assessment tool used is the POWER score which looks at the strength, endurance and coordination of your contractions. Results help us build an individual exercise program for you.
So let us help you take control and POWER up your pelvic floor!

(Internal assessments are optional, and not an essential part of post natal MOTs)

It’s back- DADDY & ME WHILST MUMMY HAS TEA👨‍🍼
Time for dad & baby to bond as dads learn simple baby massage and yoga techniques they can use as part of babies bed time routine, help ease tummy ache and soothe baby.

Dads can struggle to bond initially or find time to spend with their little ones when returning to work, so this workshop is ideal.

It also doubles up to give the men a safe space to chat to other dads and make ‘dad friends’. 👨‍👦
Meanwhile mums can sit in the room next door and enjoy a brew and cake 🍰☕️in peace whilst having a natter with other mums (or disappear off for an hour and do your own thing).

Massage oil included and hand outs to refer back to at home!

Brews, cake and time to all get together, chat and make new friends at the end

Join us for this fun family session

Urine flow of less than 7-8 Mississippi counts or needing to go to the loo more frequently than every 2-3 hours can be a sign of pelvic floor dysfunction- most commonly an over active pelvic floor!

The muscles that control the bladder can trigger the bladder to empty early when it is only a 3rd or less full rather than full, leading to pelvic floor issues.
This habit is common following pregnancy and having young children as you tend to wee (just in case) before your bladder gets full.

It can also be linked to irritants including to much coffee or drinking too much water in one go when playing catch up. And bad habits including hovering over a toilet rather than sitting on it.

So try delaying your first urge to visit the loo or distract yourself with other thoughts. You can start to train your bladder and pelvic floor habits.

For more help speak to a pelvic floor / women’s health therapist.

📣NEW ***PELVIC FLOOR EVENING***📣
After our last pelvic floor and Prosecco evening I am hosting our pelvic floor and more. Feedback is that women feel they need more support around pelvic floor management during pregnancy and more importantly the 4th trimester and beyond.

I think it’s really important to learn more about your changing body during pregnancy and expectations of postpartum recovery if possible whilst pregnant (whilst not so sleep deprived). The advice for mums in antenatal classes and the post natal 6 week check are minimal and more focused around baby. So this workshop is designed to help bridge that gap and inform you about your body, tips, tools and exercises to help you recover and rebuild at the right pace and stage for you.

What’s Covered:
🌸 Pelvic floor what’s common vs normal
🌸 Pelvic floor in pregnancy and birth prep
🌸 How to manage early stages of post natal recover and the 4th trimester (first 3 months)
🌸 Tears, forceps, episiotomy’s
🌸 Diastasis Recti - How to check and exercises to manage
🌸 The breath and the diaphragm
🌸 Incontinence / Prolapses
🌸 The pelvic floors return to impact exercise
🌸 The importance of core, glutes, legs for pelvic floor health

🧘A mini pelvic floor and core pilates class

Sooooooo much to cover in 90mins but so much opportunity for you to improve and reduce pelvic floor symptoms, worry and myth busting 🫶

This time the session is on zoom so anyone who is struggling with child care can still attend. the session will also be recorded so you can catch up at a later time

1 in 3 women suffer with pelvic floor dysfunction including leaking, pain and pr*****ed. It’s common but that does not mean it’s normal! So why do companies push pads to fix things!
We blame child birth, and the menopause amoungst other things for years of pelvic floor misery, or many women avoid aspects of life in fear of pelvic floor leaking. However with more education on pelvic floor and bladder health alongside some basic pelvic floor specific exercises, a significant amount of women’s symptoms can improve if not fully resolve.

Therefore is it right that marketing leads women to believe that it’s ok to accept your pelvic floor for what it is and it’s ok just pop a pad in for the rest of your life and laugh and jump until your hearts content!

What are your thoughts on this?
