Why Fibre is Your Heart’s Best Friend 🌾✨
We often hear we need more fibre, but do you know why?
When you eat fibrous foods like lentils, oats, and broccoli, your gut bacteria ferment them into Short-Chain Fatty Acids (SCFAs). These clever compounds act like natural anti-inflammatories for your blood vessels.
Research led by the University of Leeds found that just a 7g increase in daily fibre (about a portion of wholemeal pasta and some greens) can lower your cardiovascular risk by 9%.
At Houlbrook, we see health as a holistic journey. Proper fuel leads to better movement, and better movement leads to a longer, more active life.
The Houlbrook Tip: Swap white bread for seeded wholemeal this week. Your heart (and your gut) will thank you for it!
