💙 Autism Support in Derby & Derbyshire (NHS-funded & free) 💙

If you’re an autistic adult (diagnosed or self-identifying) living in Derby or Derbyshire, there’s a free post-diagnostic support service available — funded by the NHS and designed and delivered by autistic people, with over 250 autistic voices involved.

✨ What’s on offer?
Support is flexible and tailored, with both group and 1:1 options, including:

🔹 Pathway Mentoring Programme
Build confidence and wellbeing, explore what autism means to you, set goals, and move forward — with a trained autistic mentor.
Includes 1:1 sessions, online learning, and a weekly support group.

🔹 ANC Coaching

Cervical Cancer Prevention week is an opportunity to remind everyone how important cervical screening is.
Screening can help prevent cervical cancer by finding changes early, before they develop into cancer.

Can You Help Train the Next Generation of Doctors? 🌟

We’re looking for volunteers to spend 20–30 minutes chatting with student doctors from the University of Sheffield here at The Springs Health Centre.

👩‍⚕️ These students are in their first two years of training and are eager to learn what living with different health conditions is really like — directly from patients themselves.

We are currently looking for patients with a history of
Stroke/TIA to attend the session on Thursday 15th Jan 2026, Diabetes on 5th Feb 2026 and Atrial Fibrillation (AF) on 26 & 27 Feb 2026

📢 Important information about blood tests

Chesterfield Royal Hospital is changing how blood tests are requested. They will no longer use the ICE system.

If the hospital has asked you to have a blood test done at your GP surgery, you must bring the paper request form with you.

❗ GP surgeries will not be able to print a form if you forget it.

❗ If you do not bring the form, the blood test cannot be done, as the laboratory will not be able to process it.

Please remember to bring your paper form to your appointment.
We will remind patients about this when booking blood test appointments.

The phlebotomy service operates an appointment and walk-in system located in suite 9 within the Pathology Department at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
