Clydebank Men’s Shed BOOSTED BY £5,300 OF FUNDING
West Dunbartonshire based charity Clydebank Men’s Shed have secured a grant totalling £5,300 from Bank of Scotland Foundation’s funding programme, Reach, which is being used as a contribution towards their future building and maintenance costs.
Founded in 2015 Clydebank Men’s Shed promotes positive mental health in men, combats exclusion and loneliness, and encourages members into learning new skills while helping other in the community.
With the cost-of-living crisis impacting mental health, as well as income, the funding will mean that the charity can continue to deliver a range of community services, overseen by their volunteer management committee, so that members have a better quality of life through increased and continued interaction with others.
Joe Gherardi, Chair of Clydebank Men’s Shed, said, “We are delighted to receive this grant from Bank of Scotland Foundation’s Reach Programme. Knowing we will be able to retain and repair our premises is a huge relief. The work our members do in the community vital in ensuring that this often overlooked group get the help they need.
Donald MacKechnie, Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and Insurance & Wealth Transformation and Strategy Director, Lloyds Banking Group said, “We are delighted to award Clydebank Men’s Shed with £5,300 of funding. The cost-of-living crisis means many charities are struggling with increasing expenditure, at a time when the demand for their services is as great as ever. Our grant awards will help charities through the challenging months ahead.”
