My name is Niamh McVey and I am a fully qualified Speech and Drama teacher. I am a trainee teacher and I am commencing my final year of the BEd Primary Education with English degree at St. I have been teaching Speech and Drama privately for a few years and I have decided to extend my hours and offer more places. I have also provided one to one Literacy tuition to pupils who require additional support. and have worked closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs. I have a passion for working with young people and enabling them to discover their talents. Classes are offered on a one to one basis and in groups of 2-3 pupils. The pupils are matched according to their age, Key Stage and ability levels. Classes are available for pupils Primary One and above- including secondary school pupils. I have experienced Literacy and The Arts in the Foundation Stage, KS1 an KS2. I have achieved my grades in Speech and Drama: Communication with the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Speech and Drama can improve a child's reading, writing, communication, language and talking and listening skills. Speech and Drama classes foster and nurture invaluable skills and such as confidence and self-esteem. My Speech and Drama classes are in line with the CCEA Northern Ireland Curriculum and promote thinking skills and capabilities such as working with others, speaking in public and self-management. Students are entered for examinations with the LAMDA academy- London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and New Era Academy. The preparation for exams enable pupils to develop a clear speaking voice, good body language and self-confidence by exploring spoken English. Each graded examination carries UCAS points for university. I have had 100% Distinction pass rate since I began teaching the pupils and I am extremely proud of their achievements. I aim to plan enjoyable lessons and work to achieve top grades. The examiners have provided my students with excellent feedback.
