Michael's Testimony
Hello Facebook friends,
I would like to ask you to prayerfully consider sowing into to the heart & soul ministry In Coatbridge north Lanarkshire Scotland.
I will share my own testimony of how I encountered the living God again in Coatbridge.
We share testimony about what Jesus has done because as it's written in scripture -
Rev 19:10. The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy - He can do it again !
For around 15 years I struggled with alcohol addiction (Alcoholism) substance abuse.
Having suffered a traumatic childhood and adulthood, it was easy for me to turn for a way out.
Alcohol & drugs gave me a sense of belonging and relief to the internal pain i was unknowingly suffering inside. I don't blame my past for the reason I used substance and alcohol to make my world better it can happen to anyone, perfectly normal people.
I had a choice but then my choice was removed. I went from using and drinking on weekend to a everyday basis. I believed It was something I had to have to survive, there was no way out for me.
It took everything from me, from the beginning. My morals - my confidence - my health - my family - my friends.
You might be thinking that's not me, but they are a definite yet to come for those who carry on with these negative behaviour patterns.
One is to meany and 100 isn't enough there's no amount of substance's or alcohol to fill the void inside us life has created.
Through my journey there was times where I got sober but not sober minded there's a huge difference, I could talk all day about this.
Nearing the end of the Vicious cycle I was trapped left broken and defeated, hospital visits, detoxes, physical and mental tourcher. I was in circles i can't speak about online, this is where it lead me to. I could tell you the truth & you wouldn't believe me. Car crashes, escaping police helicopters, broken boans broken hearts.
I went from being in a grate family home, to the streets very quickly. One day as I was walking along the street I bumped into a old friend who I used to drink with, his appearance was totally different to how I previously seen him, I knew there was something there because he achieved the impossible.
This man invited me along to the heart and sole ministry, which I had to find out for myself & I did. When I entered this room (church) I felt Jesus take my hands physically, i was aware of the reality of God there & then.
I felt convicted but not condemned, he showed me the problem and was completely fine with it.
It was in this instance i couldn't believe he was actually real.
I had relapsed sometime after which is apart of our recovery. But one thing remained, "God" The hunger and inquisitive feeling I had at the time gave me the answer - There was a solution to my problem.
Rev Sean's heart for the broken completely shook my world, there is people who care, God was real and very interested in me. Not just by words but by encounter and power to break chains.
I'm now 7 years 1 month and 26 days sober.
What Sean and Joyce carry along with the overcomers program is so important. Unfortunately there is always going to be people that don't make it to people like Sean and Jesus.
We sow into ministry and God multiples also there is the reward of giving, we to receive in greater measure.
