So yesterday I came across a video on Insta by Ben West talking about a website that he made to try to help people who plan on taking their own lives. His idea was that people write letters to those struggling. They get a letter through the website and its hoped that the letter they receive will help them change their mind and want to stay.

Here is the letter I wrote which I hope will save someones life....
Hey
I'm going to be really honest, I too have thought about su***de. I never had a plan, but there have been multiple times where I thought whats the point?
I'm glad now that I didn't. Instead, I know how hard it is, to take that first step. I put it off because I felt stupid, useless, a loser, a burden. I believed, in my mind, that I was not good enough. You nay have felt like this.
I am here to tell you that YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH. I promise you its ok to feel all these negative emotions and feelings, what we need to do is find a way to help you move forward. I didnt think there were ways to help me, but there were, and there are for you.
Taking the first step is the hardest because we don't want to let others know the truth and we dont want to admit to ourselves that we need help. We dont feel that we are deserving of it, but we are, YOU ARE.
Looking in the mirror can be a hard thing to do when you are in this place also and that's ok. What I'd love you to be able to do someday soon is look in the mirror and tell yourself I LOVE YOU. 3 little words that mean so much when you start your journey of self love. Even if you dont believe it right now id love if you could tell yourself I Love You. If you cant look in the mirror just now say to yourself I Love Me. Keep saying it over and over. What we put out there is what we get back, so if you keep saying it you will start to feel it, to believe it.
Some things that I've done and still do is put reminders in my calendar on my phone with positive affirmations like these.....
I AM ENOUGH
I AM HAPPY, CALM AND CONTENT
I AM WORTHY OF LOVE
I FEEL SAFE WITHIN MYSELF
A Mantra that I have been use is.... This too shall pass. Every time life has been feeling heavy I say this into myself.
If you can try listening to some podcasts on loving yourself and self development. You can find meditations and positive affirmation videos on YouTube to listen to.
All of this begins to rewire your brain, so instead of speaking negatively to yourself, you begin to speak positively.
I promise you that your life matters, you deserve to be happy, there are people who will help you.
I hope that you have got people who already love, support and care for you. If not there are loads of groups online and hopefully some face to face ones local to you. You deserve to have people who care for you and there are people out there who you havent even met yet that will.
I wish I could be there for you, I wish I could hold you, to help you. I will pray for you, even though I don't know your name, I will ask my Anegels to Love and Protect the person reading this letter.
I have lost people that I know to su***de, two were very close. I wish I'd known how things had been for them so I could help. So I beg of you, dont do it because although you maybe dont believe it now you matter, you deserve to find the happiness within you.
Other things that helped me was Reiki, breath work, journalling and being really honest to my CPN. She really was an Earth Angel and helped save my life.
When you get to a better place within yourself I have one crucial piece of advice.... never stop doing the work. Everything you done to get you better, keep doing it. I personally didnt and I ended up back where I had started. Thankfully now I know better and I try to make sure I add some self love and self care into my life every day. Some days its little things, some days its bigger, they all matter, just like you do.

Su***de rates are climbing which is absolutely heart breaking. I hope my letter and the letter that other people have written serve their purpose.
I hope some of you will either get involved ny writing a letter or use this amazing idea to give you the encouragement to stay here and realise that your life matters.
