Spring has officially arrived, and with it comes the first Feast of the season from Simon Stallard.

This one is something special. Chairlift chicken...

Wood-roasted rotisserie chicken, cooked low and slow over open flame on Simon’s custom-built grill — a beast of a machine that turns 30 whole chickens at once.

And in true fashion, it’s powered by something completely unexpected: the motor from a Stannah chairlift.

He calls it “chairlift chicken.”

It’s part spectacle, part ingenuity, and entirely delicious. Crisp, smoky skin. Juicy, flame-kissed meat. Cooked the way it should be — over fire, in the open air, with a bit of madness behind it.

One seriously tasty feast.

THE WALLED GARDEN is launching a new series of creative classes set within the calm of the garden.

These sessions are designed to reconnect people with craft, materials and the seasons, guided by talented makers and artists.

Our first ever Creative Club programme brings together three distinctive practices , .braemar, , each offering a different way to slow down, learn something new and create by hand.

We had hoped to have welcomed you into The Garden by now, to have served you wonderful coffee within the sanctuary of the high walls. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However, we do have some epic coffee beans to give away! The first 30 of you to message us, requesting whole beans, filter or espresso grind, can come & collect their beans from The Garden gates on Saturday from 10am-12pm. We have been learning a lot about growing from seed (who knew there was such a thing as bulb lasagne?) & researching what was historically grown within The Garden walls & it's glasshouses. We hope to offer you an inspiring array of garden related workshops when we are fully open.

Roses looks so fabulous on the old brick wall & they grow so well in the micro climate within the grounds. We will be planting another forty or so roses in the next few weeks which will be the first step towards creating an abundant new garden for you to enjoy.
