We’re incredibly proud to see Sue Smart, Home Manager at Abbeycrest Nursing Home in Sonning Common, featured recently in The Carer for her outstanding leadership and dedication to care. 💙

With over 40 years of nursing experience, Sue has brought warmth, compassion, and transformation to Abbeycrest - taking the home from just 4 residents to full occupancy of 70, all without the use of agency staff. Her commitment to creating a supportive and connected team culture is truly inspiring.

From daily garden walks and resident check-ins to celebrating passions (like helping a resident publish her first book of paintings!), Sue brings heart and purpose to every moment. ✨

Joy Across Generations at Denham Manor!

Our home was buzzing with laughter and love as we welcomed Year 3 and 4 pupils from Denham E-Act Academy for a truly heartwarming day of intergenerational fun.

As part of the Happiness Programme by Social-Ability, residents and students enjoyed sensory-based games like balloon popping, fishing, and even a few rounds of air hockey (a resident favourite!).

The day was filled with smiles, shared stories, and meaningful connection - proving that joy knows no age. Music rounded off the celebrations with a singalong of timeless classics, sparking cherished memories for many. 🎶

A huge thank you to the brilliant team at Social-Ability for bringing this wonderful experience to life and supporting the wellbeing of our residents through innovative, inclusive technology.

Today we’re celebrating one of life’s sweetest pleasures – chocolate! Marking the introduction of chocolate to Europe in 1550, July 7th is the perfect day to indulge in all things cocoa.

100 years of stories, service, and a little bit of rum! 🥃🎂

We were honoured to celebrate a remarkable milestone at Knowle Park Nursing Home as resident Peter turned 100!

Born in 1925, Peter’s life has been full of rich experiences - from his early engineering apprenticeship to his proud service in the Royal Navy. He’s a man of quick wit, deep conversations, and a true love for chess and family life.

With two daughters, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, Peter is surrounded by love and laughter. His secret to a long life? “Just enjoy life as it is - and drink a bit of rum!”

Aria Care is proud to be working with Circom – a leader in sustainable waste management – to ensure that 100% of our general waste, recycling, glass and food waste now goes to zero landfill across the business. 🌍

Recently, members of our team, including James Clear and Rowen Campbell, visited Circom’s cutting-edge facilities – home to the largest mattress recycling operation in Europe. Witnessing the incredible processes first-hand, from recycling to innovative reuse (yes, even the boardroom table!), really brought home the impact of this partnership.

Driving Strategy from the Heart: Our Home Managers Workshop 🌟

This week we came together for our quarterly home managers workshop focusing on what truly matters: delivering our strategy while keeping quality and the person at the centre of everything we do.

Using our blend of compassion and professionalism, we worked through the decisions and actions needed to continue to deliver outstanding care.

Tapping into the knowledge and experience across the whole group, we explored how we can continue to grow and innovate—without ever losing sight of the individuals who live and work in our homes.

We spent time looking at our own personality preferences, as part of our ongoing commitment to developing and supporting effective and compassionate leaders.

It was inspiring to see the passion, insight, and dedication in the room, as well as a strong sense of team ethic.

Care home open week -Day 3 at Coxhill Manor🥳

✨What a fabulous day we had ! We ticked off day 3 with relaxing pamper morning ,ensuring all our lovely residents felt looked their very best -feeling glamorous and glowing 💅💆‍♀️✨

🎶The afternoon came alive with the incredible talent of Phil,who filled our home with toe-tapping country &Western classics. From Elvis to Johnny Cash,and more- Phil wowed us not just with his vioce,but also with his energetic guitar and his mouth organ performance.🎸🎤His music and everyone smiling,swaying and even dancing in their chair.

💐And to top of a perfect day,we celebrated our beautiful Louisa’s birthday with tea ,cake and lots of love 🥳🥰🤗

Care Home Open Week – Day 2 🐾💛
Yesterday was filled with warmth, joy, and plenty of furry cuddles!

We were delighted to welcome Browells wood for a wonderful pet therapy session. The visit brought so much happiness to our residents — their smiles said it all! A special thank you to Debbie for bringing along the adorable little ones, especially the playful kittens who completely stole the show! 🐱

We also felt incredibly honoured to be visited by Councillor Louise Ashbery, mayor of Surreyheath and her husband Alan Ashbery, deputy leader of the council. Your kind presence truly made our day feel extra special — thank you for taking the time to connect with us all.

Coxhill Manor Open Week – Day 1 Highlights
What a wonderful start to our Care Home Open Week!

Yesterday morning, our talented chefs and team laid out a delicious breakfast buffet, which was thoroughly enjoyed by residents ,visitors and staffs alike. In the afternoon, we turned up the joy with a jukebox musical session, featuring favourite tunes specially chosen by our residents — from Doris Day and Bing Crosby to George Michael and Johnny Cash. It was heartwarming to see everyone singing along and tapping their happy feet!

Some residents also took time to soak up the sunshine in the garden, enjoying the peaceful view and watching the apples grow.

We hope today brings more smiles and moments to treasure! 🌞🎶🍎

🇬🇧 D-Day Remembrance at Coxhill Manor 🇬🇧

Last week, we honoured D-Day with a meaningful and heartwarming day of reflection and celebration.

🪖 In the morning, our residents took part in “Chair Exercises – Military Style,” set to the nostalgic tunes of the D-Day Dollies. The energy was high, and the memories were flowing!

🌿During the afternoon, some residents chose to relax in the garden, soaking up the fresh air and sunshine. Others got into the spirit with a fun round of “D-Day Putting on the Green” – a lovely way to stay active and engaged.

📚 As we remembered the bravery and sacrifices made on this historic day, our home was filled with gratitude and thoughtful conversation.

🍰 And of course, no British celebration would be complete without tea and cake! Our delicious cupcakes and biscuits added the perfect sweet touch to a meaningful day.
