Taking action for mental health can make a real difference, whether itโ€™s for yourself, for someone else, or for all of us.

Raising awareness is important, but meaningful change happens when we turn that awareness into everyday actions.

Simple ways to take action include:
โ€ข Checking in with yourself and taking time to rest and recharge ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒฟ
โ€ข Reaching out to someone who might need support ๐Ÿคโœจ
โ€ข Talking openly about mental health to reduce stigma ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฌ
โ€ข Getting involved in your community or supporting others ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’›

Small actions can have a big impact on wellbeing, helping create a more supportive and understanding environment for everyone. ๐Ÿ’™โœจ

The ICP is raising money for Action for Carers Surrey.

Action for Carers Surrey provides support, advice, and information for unpaid carers across Surrey. Whether you are an adult carer, a young carer, or a professional working with carers, they offer vital help and guidance to those who need it most.

Across Surrey, there are nearly 2,000 young carers, many of whom balance caring responsibilities alongside school and everyday life. Through the Epsom Neighbourhood, the ICP and Action for Carers Surrey have built a strong friendship and partnership, and we want to support the incredible work they continue to do within the community.

To help raise funds and awareness, staff from the ICP will be taking part in the park run on 1st August 2026. Any donation or support would be hugely appreciated and would make a real difference to the lives of carers across Surrey. Thank you for your kindness and support.

Too many women still die from preventable causes during pregnancy and childbirth.

Skilled care before, during, and after birth can save lives โ€” and midwives are best placed to provide it.

๐Ÿ“Š Achieving universal coverage of midwife-delivered interventions by 2035 could avert 67% of these deaths.
โš ๏ธ But the world is short of one million midwives.

Urgent action is needed to grow, support, and sustain the global midwifery workforce.

Having a personalised asthma action plan can help you stay in control of your symptoms and know exactly what to do if they change. It is a written plan agreed with your healthcare professional that explains your daily treatment, how to recognise worsening symptoms and what steps to take in an emergency.

A good asthma action plan can help you:
โ€ข Understand your triggers and how to avoid them ๐ŸŒฟโš ๏ธ
โ€ข Take the right medication at the right time ๐Ÿ’Š๐Ÿฉบ
โ€ข Spot early warning signs of an asthma attack ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ’จ
โ€ข Know when to seek urgent medical help ๐Ÿš‘โฑ๏ธ

Keeping your plan up to date and easy to access can give you confidence and help prevent serious asthma attacks. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿซโœจ

Knowing the signs of a stroke and acting quickly can save lives and reduce long-term disability. A stroke happens when blood flow to the brain is interrupted, and urgent treatment is essential.

Remember the FAST signs:
โ€ข Face drooping on one side ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ
โ€ข Arm weakness or numbness ๐Ÿ’ชโš ๏ธ
โ€ข Speech difficulty or slurred speech ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธโ—
โ€ข Time to call 999 immediately โฑ๏ธ๐Ÿš‘

Recovery doesnโ€™t stop after hospital care. Ongoing support, rehabilitation and connecting with others can make a big difference to rebuilding confidence and independence after a stroke. Peer support groups and specialist organisations can provide advice, encouragement and a sense of community for both patients and carers. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿง โœจ
