Just came back from the British Menopause Society (BMS) annual conference in Kenilworth. Feeling really enthused by the excellent programme presented by the leading UK and international specialist in women’s health. The main focus was on increasing awareness almost both patients and health care professionals and delivering individualised advice and treatments.
The symptoms of PMS, perimenopause and menopause are still too often not diagnosed and frequently dismissed or treated with wrong medications, such as antidepressants, sleeping tablets, contraceptive pills, to name a few.
There was a suggestion that menopause awareness should be introduced in the mainstream school education and workplaces. What are your thoughts?
Consider consulting with a menopause specialist, if you have experienced any unexplained anxiety, irritability, disturbed sleep, mood swings, tearfulness, forgetfulness, difficultly in concentrating, decreased libido even if you are in your 40’s with a regular menstrual cycle.
We personalise treatment plans for our patients. By taking a thorough history of your symptoms and past medical and family history, we decide what blood tests and examinations you need, prior to commencing treatment so we can create a tailored plan for you.
