📣 Important Update on Botox Regulations in the UK

As of 1st June 2025, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) has implemented new guidelines to enhance patient safety in non-surgical cosmetic procedures, including Botox treatments. Here’s what you need to know:

🔹 Mandatory Face-to-Face Consultations: Before prescribing Botox, nursing and midwifery prescribers are now required to conduct in-person consultations. Remote prescribing via phone, email, or online platforms is no longer permitted.

🔹 Individual Prescriptions: Botox is a prescription-only medicine. Each patient must be individually assessed and prescribed for by a qualified healthcare professional.

🔹 Cooling-Off Period: A recommended 48-hour cooling-off period between the consultation and the treatment allows patients time to consider the procedure carefully.

These measures aim to ensure that all patients receive safe and appropriate care. If you’re considering Botox or other non-surgical cosmetic treatments, make sure to consult with a qualified professional who adheres to these new regulations.
