Please book on and be mindful that it is far more beneficial to attend consistently for several weeks if you can.
I run a 4-week booking system: you may book 4 weeks of classes for £40, however, if you cancel 24 hours prior to the class you can roll one over. Also, if you introduce a friend/family member/acquaintance and they book for 4 weeks, you will earn one FREE class! Please message me by any of the methods above to book on and pay.
Bring warm, comfy clothes - layers where possible; a warm blanket, cushion - anything that makes you cosy and comfortable. Although we will be sat, if you want to bring a yoga mat or a kneeling cushion/stool, that’s great too. It would be useful to bring a notepad and pen that you could use regularly in this class…
This week we are noticing, in these troubled times, the positive side of life and coming to terms that we have an inherent negativity bias that we can change, with practice…here’s the science:
The amygdala, central to the brain’s alarm system, dedicates two thirds of its neurons to processing negative experiences – if you look at brain activity in a scanner, negative experiences generate intense activity, while pleasant ones of equal magnitude, produce far less.
So, what can we do to help us store more positive experiences in our memory? Well, by focusing on pleasure, you can encourage the parts of your brain that notice and create the sensations of happiness and pleasure to grow and become stronger, so our neural pathways begin to change and balance out the negativity bias!
The more we can practice the habit of noticing the good things as they occur, stay with them for a little while, allowing them to enter our IMPLICIT memory, the more that calm and tranquility will build within us, thus reducing our pain and suffering; dissolving anxiety, stress, unhappiness and exhaustion.
