I have worked in the field of optics for over 20 years. My career began as a trainee dispensing optician, and I qualified in 2005. After taking some time out to raise my two children, I returned to studying in 2015 to complete my Contact Lens Certificate.
In 2019, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to further my career by pursuing a degree in Optometry. I qualified as an Optometrist in 2022. Throughout my career, I have remained passionate about delivering high-quality, personalised care. I take pride in understanding the unique needs of every patient I see, ensuring they receive the attention and treatment they deserve.
Most recently, I joined the Heals practices in April 2025 as Optometrist/Director, and I am excited to be part of a team that shares my commitment to excellence in patient care.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family. I also play football for our local ladies walking football team.

I’ve been an optometrist for around 15 years, working across multiple countries and clinical settings. That journey has shaped the way I practise today — combining precision, compassion, and a commitment to care that’s personal, not just clinical.

Now fully UK-registered, I’m proud to bring that global experience to Heals and D&D McWilliams Optician, where I also serve as Director. Whether it’s a routine eye test or more advanced diagnostics, I believe every patient deserves to feel seen, heard, and confident in their care.

Outside the clinic, I’m a lifelong football fan — I never miss a Premier League match when I can help it — and I’m always looking for new ways to bring that same passion and focus to the way we run our practice.

With over 35 years of experience in the optical profession, I began my journey as a receptionist at a small practice in West Yorkshire. It was there that I discovered my passion for eye care, leading me to qualify as a dispensing optician. My career took me to Cumbria, where I played a key role in the takeover of a chain of opticians. Over the years, I progressed through various management and training roles, eventually becoming a director in 2013.
Throughout my career, delivering high-quality eye care and eyewear has remained at the heart of everything I do. I’m deeply committed to ensuring every patient receives the best possible experience.
Outside of work, I love exploring the UK and beyond in my motorhome, and I cherish time spent with my family and our dog, Cooper.

After growing up in Cumbria, I studied Optometry at Cardiff University, before completing my studies at Maidstone Hospital.
I then returned north and started working at Heals Opticians. I became a director in 2021, and I loved working within the team to provide great care for patients.
However, after having a baby in 2024, I decided to step down as director and now work purely as an Optometrist. I still love to deliver bespoke eyecare to patients and love ensuring that each patient has their individual needs met.
Outside of being a mum and working, I enjoy climbing and running.
