NUTRITION AND HYDRATION DAY 🎉🍸 🍹

On Monday at Dalton Court we celebrated Nutrition and Hydration Day, highlighting the importance of maintaining staying well hydrated while ensuring mealtimes remain enjoyable and social for our residents. The day began with residents enjoying a selection of refreshing cocktails and mocktails, creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere while encouraging everyone to keep hydrated. For lunch, we provided a delicious buffet-style spread allowing residents to choose foods they enjoy and try something new while dining together.

In the afternoon, the celebrations continued with a fantastic live performance from singer Sasha. Residents spent the afternoon listening, watching, and singing along to familiar songs, creating a wonderful atmosphere full of smiles and laughter. It was a lovely day that combined hydration, music, and social connection, all of which play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our residents here at Dalton Court.

✨ Open Days at Dalton Court Care Home ✨

We’d love you to come along and spend some time with us 💛

📅 Friday 27th & Saturday 28th February
⏰ 10:30am – 3:00pm
📍 Europe Way, Cockermouth

On Friday, you’ll be able to see our residents enjoying gentle armchair exercises and fun floor games like ring toss, ball games and bean bag throwing, before the day finishes with plenty of singing and laughter during our karaoke sessions upstairs and downstairs.

On Saturday, the morning continues with armchair exercises followed by a lively music and movement session with sing-alongs, instruments and pom poms, and in the afternoon we’ll be putting our thinking caps on for a friendly quiz and crossword group.

It’s a relaxed and welcoming chance to meet our team and residents, have a look around, and get a real feel for life at Dalton Court.

🥞 Pancake Smiles at Dalton Court Care Home! 🥞

Today our residents at Dalton Court Care Home had a wonderful time in the dining room watching our Activities Coordinator make fresh pancakes right in front of them! The smell alone had everyone smiling.

After enjoying their lunch, residents were able to choose their own toppings for dessert – from classic lemon and sugar to chocolate spread, strawberries, bananas, homemade chocolate sauce, toffee sauce and syrup. Every pancake was made just the way they liked it!

And the fun didn’t stop there… once everyone had enjoyed their treats, residents had a go at flipping a pancake in the frying pan as an activity. There was lots of laughter, cheering, and a few very impressive flips!

A simple idea that brought so much joy, choice, and togetherness. 💛
