The foundation of our service is a person-centred approach; treating each client with the utmost respect, dignity and compassion at all times whilst delivering the highest quality personal care. We strongly believe that to achieve maximum independence, quality of life and enablement, we must first allow our clients to choose the life they want to live. Our primary role is to advise and support their choices whilst ensuring their needs are being fulfilled. Each person is unique. There is no one-size-fits-all, which is why Hayward Community Care can tailor all of our services to meet the exact needs and requirements of each client. This way we can enable a life of personal choice that is as unique as the person themselves.

Why You'll Love Working With Us:

- Fantastic Pay: Earn £12.80 per hour on weekdays and £13.00 per hour on weekends. 🤩
- Paid Travel Time and Waiting Time: Get paid for travel between calls with gaps less than 30 minutes.
- Mileage Reimbursement: We pay 20p per mile between calls, and you can claim the rest back (up to 45p) from HMRC at the end of the financial year! 🚗💰

Favourite thing about Hayward: feeling appreciated and seeing the clients faces light up with joy from helping them or them even seeing you

Advice for someone joining care: be open minded and just be KIND , it can make someone’s day even asking if they are okay as not many clients see anyone apart from us so being kind is very important

When did you join the care industry?
After caring for a close relative for a few years, I learnt how vital my support was and that I had a good way in making people feel safe. Caring for others became a very natural way of life.

What was the main reason you wanted to start a care service?
After establishing a Befriending service in 2009, I had this idea of how personalised care could work along side Befriending support. After meeting Kate Barker, whom shared a similar idea, we decided to start Hayward Community Care.

An interesting fact about you?
I went to an international school in the Netherlands as a teenager. I am a huge madonna fan 😊

Proudest achievement?
Being a father, starting HaywardBefriending in 2009 and achieving my level 5 qualification during the covid pandemic

Favourite thing about working at Hayward Care Group?
The people, from clients to staff, I still enjoy interacting and listening to people's experiences and how our services make a difference each day.

Advice for someone who is thinking of joining care?
If you are a natural caring person, who likes to make a difference, we want to hear from you. Come be part of a unique way to care for others. We value opinions and like our people to have a good time caring for others.

Joined the Hayward Team in October 2023

I have been a carer for 13 years and I have worked in various care settings. From nursing, retirement, children with special needs and hospital HCA.

My hobbies are going to concerts, meeting with friends and making memories with my son.

An interesting fact about myself.... I am petrified of octopus 🤣🫣

My proudest achievement is my son Tommy 🩵

My favorite thing about working for Hayward is the flexibility around work and home life and obviously the clients, we have a lovely bunch of clients 🥰

My advice for someone joining care, treat the clients how you would want your parents/grandparents to be treated. Give them the time of day and companionship they deserve and need. We may be the only people they see daily 💜
