When it comes to getting rid of unwanted hair, laser hair removal is one of the safest and most popular options. While options such as waxing and shaving provide short-term results, laser hair removal offers a much longer-term solution.

Most clients only experience a gentle warming sensation in the area being treated which is much less compared with other types of laser hair removal.

Even if you have had laser hair treatment in the past it is always advisable to have a patch test which will help ensure that your skin is suitable for laser hair removal.

3. Treatments should be carried out regularly
When it comes to laser hair removal it’s important that you book in your treatments regularly to help treat the hairs during the Anagen phase of growth. Because only around 10 – 15% of your hair is at this stage at any time, spreading out the treatment over a period of between 4 – 8 weeks will help ensure that all your hair is targeted.

4. 6 – 8 treatments will normally provide optimal results
As we mentioned before each treatment will normally target around 10 -15% of your hair so for most people they will need between 6 and 8 treatments to see the best results. For areas that are more resistant to treatment such as the face or groin, you may need additional treatments.

5. Preparation is the key to great results
You should avoid all forms of hair removal apart from shaving prior to treatment. Waxing, threading, or hair removal creams can cause problems and react with the laser so these should be avoided for the period 6 weeks before treatment. Around 8 hours prior to treatment you should shave the target area as this will help to ensure that the laser is targeted at the hair’s follicles and that it is not heating up hair outside the skin which can cause discomfort.
