In addition to providing nursing and dementia care, we offer a range of services that can be used by residents (and non-residents again when Covid-19 restrictions are lifted) . Short term rehabilitation

After a period in hospital further convalescence may be needed before returning home. Here, our staff can help increase mobility, rebuild strength and boost confidence. Short breaks

Whether it’s for four weeks or four months, we can provide round-the-clock care of the highest standard. (Rooms are subject to availability and a minimum four week stay.) Activities

We also run a range of activities on each wing and in our community hub that are both fun and engaging, from gardening and baking to games and quizzes. We also usually have a range of regular entertainers who come to visit us (not currently due to Covid-19 restrictions, but we look forward to welcoming entertainers again soon). Hairdressing

Our hairdresser is available for a cut and blow dry, set or short back and sides. (Booking in advance is advisable.)

Pottery Throwdown at Foxborrow Grange.
Our residents have really got hands on and very creative during our pottery session. With a little assistance we crafted a wonderful variety of pieces from charming plant pots and photo holders to unique tea coasters. An enjoyable time was had by all.

Remember, Remember the 5th of November.
We may not have had fireworks this year, but that didn’t stop us from celebrating Guy Fawkes Day in our own creative way. Our residents have been busy bringing the festivities to life by building our very own Guy Fawkes and a make believe bonfire.
From painting and cutting to gluing and dressing, everyone played a part in turning this fun idea into a wonderful reality. At Foxburrow Grange we don’t just hold activities in The Hub but we also bring our activities to those in bed who are unable to attend so nobody misses out on the fun.

We have had a fun filled Halloween at Foxburrow Grange as the posts continue to show you all the wonderful activities that our residents have been enjoying. A special shoutout to our incredible and talented Mandy who has spent hours transforming our home into a spooky lair for our residents to enjoy. At Foxburrow Grange our teams always go the extra mile to make every experience special and Mandy’s Halloween decorations are no exception. Here are some of her brilliant creations.

Congratulations to our wonderful Mags from Otter Suite who won our Halloween Chocolate Hamper in our raffle. Thank you to everyone who took part, your donations will go towards our resident's wellbeing events to enjoy even more fun days out and special events.
Best Fancy Dress winner was won by our amazing nurse Sandra from Badger Suite who went all out with her spooky costume and truly brought the Halloween spirit to life. Congratulations to our resident Valmy, who nailed the “Guess the Weight of the Pumpkin” competition with a super close guess of 10 pounds (the pumpkin weighed 10lb 5oz!). Well done to all our winners and thank you to everyone who joined in the fun. What a spooktacular day at Foxburrow Grange.

🎨 Halloween Arts & Crafts🎃
Our residents have been getting crafty for Halloween by making their very own broomstick treat bags stuffed with sweets. 🧹🍬 At our spooky Halloween party everyone got to show off their creations and had great fun playing some fang-tastic fairground games. 👻✨

The Great British Care Awards - Milton Keynes - WINNER
We attended the Great British Care Awards in Milton Keynes on Friday 31st October and are proud to announce that our finalist Charlotte Lee won The Dignity In Care Award. Charlotte will now be heading to Birmingham in February for the national finals. Huge congratulations also go to our other finalists, Sally Morgan and Hedgehog Care Team.

Our residents had great fun when our beautiful gardens were turned into a Pumpkin Patch.
We all embraced the autumn spirit with a visit to Foxburrow Grange's very own Pumpkin Patch in our garden. Our residents wandered through the gardens, searching high and low for the perfect pumpkin to take home and decorate for Halloween. It was lovely to get some fresh air and enjoy the beautiful autumn colours on the trees.

We had the pleasure of taking some of our residents on a wonderful trip to Colchester Castle.
Our day began with a private tour of the grounds, followed by a delightful show-and-tell presentation accompanied by tea and biscuits. Afterwards, we explored the museum at our own pace, soaking in the fascinating history. One of the highlights was an immersive show in the old prison cells, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. We even tried our hand at puppetry on stage with plenty of laughter and smiles all around.
A heartfelt thank you to Colchester Castle and Christina from FaNs Network for being such gracious hosts and making the morning so memorable.

There is a lot of exciting new things happening at Foxburrow Grange. Firstly we are proud to show off our new Foxburrow Grange logo. You will gradually see this throughout our home with new external signage and brand new brochure. We have already begun refurbishing bedrooms and our new reception refurbishment begins next week. We will keep you updated on all our progress.
Our Director of Commercial Services, Garry Gardiner said "It is our passion at Foxburrow Grange to offer a high standard of quality care with a beautiful environment for our residents to live in. As a not for profit company we will continue to reinvest and offer Colchester a wonderful residential, dementia and nursing home to reside in"

Today’s arts and crafts session was all about creating enchanting Autumn fairy light jars. Each resident was provided with a jar to decorate, using a variety of dried pressed flowers and colourful stickers. Our residents thoughtfully selected their flowers and carefully chose colour themes, each jar reflecting their unique creative flair. Once satisfied with their designs, they added a string of fairy lights and finished off with a lovely bow. Some residents decided to keep their jars as a personal touch for their space, while others expressed plans to gift them to friends and family. The final result left everyone beaming with pride and joy. Even our staff were inspired and are now excited to make their own fairy light jars at home.
