If using a satnav to visit us please use the postcode CO2 7UW. In addition to providing nursing and dementia care, we offer a range of services that can be used by residents (and non-residents again when Covid-19 restrictions are lifted) . Short term rehabilitation

After a period in hospital further convalescence may be needed before returning home. Here, our staff can help increase mobility, rebuild strength and boost confidence. Short breaks

Whether it’s for four weeks or four months, we can provide round-the-clock care of the highest standard. (Rooms are subject to availability and a minimum four week stay.) Activities

We also run a range of activities on each wing and in our community hub that are both fun and engaging, from gardening and baking to games and quizzes. We also usually have a range of regular entertainers who come to visit us (not currently due to Covid-19 restrictions, but we look forward to welcoming entertainers again soon). Hairdressing

Our hairdresser is available for a cut and blow dry, set or short back and sides.

🌿 A Walk to Remember at Abbey Fields 🌿

Last week our residents, joined by staff and family members, enjoyed a refreshing walk and talk around the beautiful Abbey Fields. Together we strolled a mile and a half through the park, collecting pinecones and acorns along the way. 🌰🍂

It was a wonderful chance to enjoy the fresh air, share stories, and spend quality time with loved ones. Moments like these remind us how important it is to stay active, connected, and surrounded by nature. 💚

Connecting with Community: A Visit to Abbeyfield Community Gardens 🌱😊

On Monday, a group of residents from Foxburrow Grange Care Home in Colchester enjoyed a joyful and engaging visit to Abbeyfield Community Gardens — a local community space known for its inclusive atmosphere and meaningful activities.

This wasn’t a full-day outing, but the time spent there was full of laughter, movement, and connection. It’s just one example of how we support our residents to stay active, social, and involved with the world around them.

Games, Gardening & New Friendships 🌿🎯

Residents took part in a range of gentle, fun activities including a soft golf 9-hole course, giant noughts and crosses, and a “grow your own” bean planting session. Others enjoyed a peaceful stroll through the Abbeyfield labyrinth garden, taking in the scenery and striking up conversations with new faces.

The visit wasn’t just about fresh air — it was about forming real connections. Our residents didn’t just participate in the games; they laughed, engaged, and built friendships with members of the wider community. The joy was genuine, and the smiles said it all.

Sunshine, Singalongs & Smiles: A Surprise Garden BBQ at Foxburrow Grange ☀️🎶

At Foxburrow Grange Care Home in Colchester, we believe that care should be full of life, laughter, and memorable moments. This past Saturday, our residents, staff, families, and friends enjoyed a surprise BBQ and garden party — and the sunshine made sure it felt like summer at its best!

Last-Minute Plans, Lasting Memories ❤️

Despite starting with a few clouds and a slight chill, the day quickly warmed up — and so did the atmosphere. Our team pulled together a last-minute BBQ just for our residents and staff, showing once again that it doesn’t take long to create something special.

The food was sizzling, the garden was full of laughter, and the joy was undeniable.

Live Music with Pete George 🎤🌼

We were delighted to welcome Pete George back for a live performance, and he didn’t disappoint! Residents sang along to familiar favourites, tapped their feet, and even got up to dance — with family, friends, and team members joining in.

By the end of the afternoon, one question kept coming up: “When’s Pete coming back?” (Don’t worry — we’re already planning the next one!)

This Wednesday, our peaceful garden at Foxburrow Grange Care Home in Colchester was filled with sunshine, fresh air, and creativity as residents took part in a beautiful botanical illustration session.

Surrounded by vases of fresh flowers, each resident took time to observe the details of petals, stems, and leaves—then translated that beauty into their own unique drawings. ✏️💐

One resident beamed and said,

“It’s the best thing I’ve drawn in a long time—usually it’s just scribbles!”
