We are often asked how to register a death and the Freedom Funeral team are here to guide you every step of the way…

In the UK, a death must be registered within five days (or eight days in Scotland). A relative of the deceased is usually the preferred person to do this. However, if no family member is available, others can take on this responsibility. This includes anyone who was present at the time of death, someone who lived at the same address as the deceased, or the person arranging the funeral, though not the funeral director.
