I cant hold it in any longer, I am so excited!!! I am adopting this handsome boy from second chance horse rescue 😍 race name Cutty Sark.
He should be arriving from Malta at some point mid September.

In Malta once the horses finish their racing careers they get sent to Sicily for slaughter. This super little rescue team are trying to save as many as possible but it is at a huge cost. Just a bale of hay shipped over to them costs over 300 euros!!! Each load of horses taken to the UK costs around £8000.
The rescue relies on donations and they fundraise as much as they can.

Turned my equilab app on to see how far I walk whilst poo picking and putting hay out on my track; almost a mile and a half!!!
Would love to know the distance my horses cover in 24hrs.
Horses in traditional paddocks tend to move a lot less as they spend more time standing still or grazing in one area.

•Track systems encourage movement.
•A horses intestinal organs are designed for constant movement.
•Peristaltic movement needs slow exercise to move.
(The peristaltic movement is a wave like movement of muscles that moves food through the digestive system)
•Horses need movement for the hooves to pump blood back to the heart
•Exercise burns sugar- vital for metabolic horse
•Exercise gets oxygen moving, the Metabolic system needs oxygen to work
•oxygen = detoxification

And that is just a fraction of the benefits of a track system!!😲
