This space has taught me so much — not just about floatation therapy itself, but about people.

The majority of those who came through our doors did so for their mental health, or to find relief from pain — whether physical or emotional. Everyone is going through something. And the tank became more than just a service; for many, it became a place of peace, release, and reconnection. Some found deep healing. Some had experiences they couldn’t quite explain. Some simply found space to rest, and left lighter than when they came in.
But beyond the therapy itself, what’s really stayed with me are the moments of connection. The chats, the kindness, the stories — and the reminder that often, people don’t realise the impact they’re having, just by being themselves. A conversation, a bit of honesty, a shared laugh or moan — it can mean more than they know. That’s something I’ll always carry forward.

I’ve also had the privilege of working alongside some incredible practitioners during this time. Tara (Reflex & Flow) has been not only a brilliant reflexologist but also a wonderful ear and friend. I’ve learnt so much from her — especially about how powerful reflexology can be for calming children and genuinely making a difference to their wellbeing. I’m grateful our friendship will continue beyond this chapter.

And of course, Del, who brought his own expertise and energy to the space as a highly experienced sports massage therapist. He’s helped so many people with everything from frozen shoulder to deep tissue and cupping therapy — and comes highly recommended by James, our head coach.

Both Tara & will be continuing their work independently, and I truly cannot recommend them enough. Their knowledge, professionalism, and kindness are second to none.

Running this business has taught me far more than I ever expected: about alternative therapies, about people’s resilience, about compassion, and definitely about business — the real, messy, beautiful challenge of it all.

Thank you to everyone who’s supported Floatation Therapy Essex over the years. You helped build something real — and I’ll always be proud of that.
